Just got an email from ezsportsbook that they won't accept Western Union deposits anymore after tomorrow. Any other books pulling the plug because WU officially pulled the plug?

It's been a hit-and-miss issue with several shops I've dealt with. Quite a few of what would be considered the top books in the industry have altered the way they handle WU deposits/payouts at some time during the current FB season.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why more books don't go the Debit Card route. Seems to work for SBG, though I'm cautious about playing there. CRIS offers a debit card, but I've not really heard whether it's been a success or not.....BetJamaica offered it for a brief time, but pulled its service as quickly as it began. I am SOOO hoping BJ reinstitutes a new Debit Card in the near future.

As for WU, i think books are finding out it's just not worth the hassle. Too many players (like myself) getting banned, ect...

I'm sending food and rent money to my friend, Raphiel Sanchez, in Costa Rica. Who are they to doubt my word??? And furthermore, why should it be their responsibility to prove me wrong??? They have as much explaining to do as the banks do in explaining Neteller transactions.

I don't understand why you WU guys aren't using the gift cards yet from netspend.com. Much cheaper than using WU and all books take the deposits. Up to 2500 at a time and it gets there in seconds. The reloadable card costs only 10 bucks once and two $ to reload each time. You reload it at the same place you send out your WU's . No problems....no questions! WHY PAY MORE!!!

Some posters said the Netspend card no longer works for gambling
He even went as far as to call them, and they said they no longer allow gambling transactions...

This was the easiest route a few months back....but supposedly it's no longer allowed...Have you done it recently?

Arizona has become a major transit point for illegal immigrants and narcotics. Officials there are trying to fight back, but in a way that has sent reverberations all the way to Chicago.

Under broad warrants, Arizona Atty. Gen. Terry Goddard has seized millions of dollars sent through Western Union wires. The intent is to put a squeeze on money laundering by smugglers. But Goddard's big net has snagged some innocent people, according to a class-action lawsuit recently filed by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. The suit was filed on behalf of a truck driver from Burbank and two other named plaintiffs.

Books pay for your Western Union fees.

Check it, don't even leave my room. Go to www.westernunion.com,
you can enter your debit or credit card #, they shoot you the control # right away. Don't even have to use the phone, get on the sportsbooks live chat, paste them the Control #, and the money is there in 15minutes. Don't even have to mention it to them, they find out the fees and add that to your cash balance on their own!
So the reloadable card costs "only $10 once and two $ to reload", but I don't pay a damn thing.

Cleo, dont they make you call them to make sure that you know who the person is youre sending it to? I remember doing the way you was describing a while back and they would give me some code to call WU.

Ironman, no they have never made me do that....:icon_conf

just have to ask them on live chat, for the receiver information. i then copy and paste that into the Receiver blank on wu.com. it's real simple, never heard of any code or anything...

Hmm, I will try it again then. Western Union was just being very hard and giving me the run around while making deposits. The thing about it, the deposits were kinda small.

Everyone I have ever heard of using WU basically has had to call in and verify info over the phone

They don't do it everytime, but it is kind of frequent

They tell you to call 1-800xxxx before the money is "released for pickup"

I know exactly what you are talking about, and it's always done at one time or another when you do it online

Just use a moneygram. Go online to their site and type in where you live to find a retail place that wll send the moneygram. I think Wal-mart does moneygrams. I did it through a local grocer in my town and the funds were in my account in 10 minutes.

Western Union asks way too many questions. I stopped using them a few years ago and went to Neteller. Western Union is such a hassle. You have to get a name and country to send it to and then fill out the paper, go somewhere to send it and then you still have to call the book or fill out the book's online form to get it deposited.

Once in a while, Western Union will flag the transaction and then you have to talk to someone and give then a bullshit story as to why you're sending money to whatever country and they'll usually ask some more questions. Like I said, just a huge hassle.

When using WU I always went to a local major food store here in the Northeast. Never would go to an actual WU location for fear of to many questions. At the food store you have some 18 year old who knows nothing more than the proceedure of how to complete the transaction. No questions asked. Have recently used money gram at Walmart. Just as good as WU and tons cheaper. Only $9.50 to send $2k US
