:think2: I'm sure it can be quite difficult for many with family around, good food about to be served and we're all sweating the Lions vs Opponent finish...

Or the Dallas game, sitting around after eating pie and making small talk with the relatives, that we see 2-3 times a year, and Dallas is driving for the cover or to send the game over the total.

Do most of you gamers hide the fact you have mony on the line while the wife or mother is telling everyone dinner is ready?

"Dinner with the degenerates" :missingte  :ohno: :suomi: :puke1: :scared:

On our Thanksgiving, which we celebrate on a Sunday, I'm the first one away from the table, flipping channels, etc. They all know why, but don't say much.

My family already sees me as the black sheep anyway. So, no matter.

Yeah I might have a problem. I got the Fins tomarrow. I got my parents and wife's parents here also. LOL They will be rooting for Detroit and I will quietly wanting the Fins to kick ass. Wife will know but nobody else will. Atleast that's the plan.

Most in my family know I gamble and they usually ask me what side I have. However, I no longer tell people (especially non-gamblers) which side I am on and usually instead give them the standard..."I didnt bet this game".

If they persist, I have several one-liners that politely inform them its none of their business what Im betting.

At the grandparents house, I have to use the bathroom during dinner to check the scores on the tv or cell phone. So damn frustrating!

This is a degenerate gambler's message board. Nobody here gets that kind of action.

'Cept maybe JoeyFitz, but he's a cripple right now.

on a serious note, if it will make your family jumpy on Turkey Day or the holidays why gamble at all? I would rather have my family around me while not worrying abiout what the score is or, if you muist play it as a "fun" wager i.e. don't bet so much that you have to check every five minutes. My family hates it when I gamble so, I usually keep it to a minimum on Thanksgiving.

but i though.t every one watches foots on thanks giving...Isnt that all you do?

simply bet on games you know every one will watch, if you are unfortunate enough not to have a family of football nuts who will watch any sort of football game (even the classics) to avoid bonding with the in laws from
wasnatch minetonka!!!!

All i will be doing all weekend long it talk about how i predicted that the ravens would make the superbowl, and how i said reggie bush would suck, eat some crow on matt leinert..but lawrence Maroney, that was my pick too... So watch out folks.....
