8.3 Flintoff to Hayden, OUT, a good line and length from Flintoff and Hayden is caught fishing on the front foot; he's squared up a treat and a thick edge flies straight to Collingwood at second slip. England have the breakthrough at last and Hayden departs after an erstwhile-supportive innings

Nice one Freddy

Lunch It's been Australia all the way in the opening session at Brisbane, with some authoritative batting on a belter of a pitch. Justin Langer has led from the front, with a tremendously confident knock - and he's only just getting started; currently he's on 68 not out. Matthew Hayden provided some useful support, but he was nailed by Andrew Flintoff, England's only glimmer of cheer this morning. Their bowling has been loose and wayward, but that's not to take anything away from Australia's batsmen, and Langer in particular, who are in control.

:sad3: i'm off to Bed

Winbet, you are aware that a test match goes for 5 days arent you? By the way, where are the updates? You seemed to stop after 5 minutes of play? Last I scored they were spanking those pathetic Poms like they do in every sport. 50 million people and England cant find 5 gold medallists at the Olympics. Enjoy your sleep.

I see all of you including the Aussies have bitten on Englands cunning tactic of pretending to be useless. They now have them celebrating after one day and ripe for the taking.:drink:

The same fiendish plot worked in the last Ashes series, but it wont be happening gain. England dont have the bowling to trouble the Aussies and you cant win tests chasing 600. Also, they dont have that beautiful summer weather to rely on when theyre in trouble.

P.S. Any team that can find a place for Ashley Giles is no chance of winning anything. He continues the fine tradition of fantastic English spinners. Surely amongst 50 million people they can find 11 that can play the game ( and they dont even have to be English, as we have seen for the past 30 years ).

What's scary for England is the fact that the spinners probably performed the best of all bowlers

Don't be fooled into thinking these pitches will suit Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee

Warne Warne Warne Warne

These wicket swill turn and when MaGill plays in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide

OH DEAR

Can't wait to BOXING DAY

How long are they going to persist with Steve Harmison? He wouldnt get a start with Zimbabwe. Only England would persist with so many mediocre players, and performances for so long. Stop the fight, someone could really get hurt.

England are the only country in the World that can invent a game and all of its rules, and still suck at it!

At least when they have something they call the 'World Cup' (as opposed to the World Series) they have the good grace to invite other nations to participate.

Yes, We invented them all Cricket, Football, Rugby, Tennis and have been World Champions at them all. Have you noticed how Ethics, particularly in sport has gone down Hill since The Commonwealth was discontinued. :drink:

winbet, if it wasn't for the brits aussies wouldn't be the sporting power we are. We couldn't fight you with guns like the americans so instead we humiliate you on the sporting field ;)

We aussies love to play above our weight, sports, hollywood, uranium, iraq (how many americans actually know we're there?).
