Heard a Very Strange Shrill Sound when I turned

of my light switch in the laundry room...It lasted less than a second and sounded like a shrill fire alarm...anyone ever hear this sound when turning off a lightswitch in your house?

If it wasn't a 'sizzle' sound then it's OK (most likely) but check into it as soon as possible

wide awake....I shut of the switch and I heard the sound...it sounded like a quick beep from a fire alarm...and a fire alarm is located a few feet from the switch...

maybe a spider crawling around in your fire alarm to that could set it off

Had this happen to a friend 10 years ago and two weeks later his house burned to the ground due to faulty wiring.

GET THIS CHECKED SOON if it continues.

well Fishstremski.... let me educate you if I may ... there are little slits in most home fire alarms where the sound comes out of .. that are located in all the rooms of your house I had a spider get into one through that and it ran across the something in the alarm that made it beep like the pig described

Dante- LOL, the sound was coming from his LIGHT SWITCH, not his fire/smoke alarm........it just SOUNDED like the alarm.

Get some coffee in you son, I know its early there in the hills of Boise.

I think he heard a firealarm that was close to his light switch they can be very hard to track down..

It's a smoke detector....and the lightswith is a few feet away from the smoke detector...the shrill sound happened when i switched of the light...
