Best game of the day and not everyone can get it. Just terrible.

FWIW - I dont think Gumbel is doing too bad for his first game.

The Best was when they said Denver had a choice to make when they came up short on the goaline. LOL It was a 1st down and here they thinking that it was 4th. What a moron Gumble is. It was 1st and 10 from the 11. What idiots. Collingsworth is uaually right on most of the time.

Collingsworth was solid as always, Gumble in his first game, cut him some slack, he was okay, but overall made several mistakes...once the Chiefs were like 3-4 yards shy of a first down and Gumble said, "he's right near the marker", then retracted it to "right near midfield"....it definitely felt different from the other network broadcasts.

Gumble sounded uncomfortable. Petty clear he hasn't called a game for a while.

Wag,

Funny, I was going to start a similar thread. The coverage on the NFL network was terrible. There were so many errors made by this guy, it was ridiculous. I remember once when it was 3rd and 2 for the Chiefs....LJ get the carry and runs for 3 yards and the 1st down....Gumbel calls the play by saying, "Larry Johnson gets the carry, but finds no running room." Um, it was a first down moron. Damn, he was bad last night. :puke1:

I was very happy to hear Gumbel and Collingsworth doing this broadcast. Collingsworth is so honest it is refreshing. Gumbel did screw up many times, but it was like going back in time to hear Gumbel doing a live event. Plus, just seeing Deion's hat at halftime was worth the price of the broadcast!

I think these football broadcasters aren't even watching the game most of the time because they are sifting through statsheets and other info on the players that's spread out in front of them in the booth, so they can seem so brilliant in their analysis. Sometimes they'll miss a flag being dropped, an incomplete that they call a catch or they lose track of the downs or something else that makes you wonder if they are even watching the same game.

Bryant Gumbel was absolutely horrible. I lost count of how many mistakes he made. My favorite was when he was talking about an injured player and said his return was "debatable". I couldn't believe he said that.

The NFL Network also did a lousy job on their coverage. I realize it was their first telecast but they have a lot of work to do. I really enjoy Bryant Gumbel on HBO's Real Sports. He does a fine job on that well done program but him doing play by play isn't going to work unless he shows a lot of improvement during the next telecast.

The best NFL team is Aikman and Buck, IMO. I think it was slightly better when Colinsworth was with them too. I enjoy listening to their insight and they rarely ever make idiotic comments that make me want to mute them.

The Sunday and Monday night teams are unbearable.
