MVC once again showing these major conf what they're all about...the Valley has been putting teams in the sweet 16 and elite 8 on a routine basis the past few years while knocking off some highly ranked teams in the process. They're off to a great start once again....I advised Fishhead that this Wichita St Shocker team will be a team to watch out for this season...
MVC off to a 30-10 record going into this weekend.

Today...Wichita St takes down #6 ranked LSU
a Thanksgiving day win by Missouri St over #7 ranked Wisconsin
Southern Illinois with a 16 pt win over Minnesota
Bradley with 20 pt wins against DePaul and Rutgers
Wichita and Creighton with wins over George Mason

Could there be more tonight....
Bradley to take on the Fighting Illini
Missouri St takes on Oklahoma St.

Allways a good BB conference and the BigBoys don't like to schedule M V C teams.

Viking: Don't forget about I S U representing the GATEWAY CONF in foots today as well.

no doubt...

I'm sure Billy Packard & Digger Phelps (Mr. "I saw the MVC Championship game, and was low scoring so they suck") were at home watching these games (aka 'their jobs)....lol

Mizzou State already played today, but lost a tough in Overtime.

Very solid conference, again this year...just wish Creighton would show more of their ability...getting squashed by Nebraska & almost losing to a down George Mason squad this yr (only Campbell & Thomas back from last years' team). The Jays should've won by DD - but Nate Funk seems to still be in a funk...since like 2004.

i really think missouri state could be the best team in that conference. not sold at all on bradley, but this conference goes at least 4-deep with creighton, missouri state, wichita state, and siu. and northern iowa SHOULD have won outright in washington if not for a final minute gag. their methodical, disciplined style completely frustrated washington and had them on the ropes in a true road game. that was impressive. even a team like drake is capable of beating anyone in the conference on a given night.

Bradley would smoke NIU, not even a matchup..The game to look at will be Bradley AT SIU...

just looked. they dont play this year. definitely think that niu is better though. their size is what would give bradley problems. theyd have no answer for hughes.

yes- i agree w/ prodigy...I would give Northern Illinois the edge as well.

But I wouldn't give em the edge over SIU...Faulkner could do a good job against Hughes, and Young/Tatum/Shaw are superior in the backcourt & overall defense.

But Bradley seems to enjoy those home hoops...every game at home I've followed they are smoking from three land. I can see them struggling mightily on the road during conference play...too many good squads in the MVC.

Anybody that wasn't sold on Bradley, you should be now. I was in that boat until tonight. They are tremendous. Ruffin is the quickest mf'er in college basketball. They play tenacious defense, and it's almost like a half-court press. They are small, but they have so many shooters. Andrews isn't much of a scoring threat, but he's a beast on the boards. They just play so hard, and really impressed the hell out of me tonight. I think SIU will have their hands full against them, even at home. Bradley is very live to win the MVC. If O'Bryant hadn't left, they'd be a top 25 team. Without him, they are still very good. They'll probably have a couple bad losses on the year when they go cold, because they are so dependent on the 3-point shot. But with so many different shooters, I expect them to shoot well on most nights. They will win a lot of games this year.

Where/when does NORTHERN IOWA and DRAKE fit into this equation?

Illinois St also makes the list with a 13 point victory on the road at St John's as a 9 point dog. They picked up a couple junior college transfers and are going to be pretty good this year.

How does that answer my question?

It means that your two teams haven't done anything to make the list, so they are out, as of right now.
