I'm pretty sure the Mint was the last casino of the group that owned the Playboy Club resort in Atlantic City. I can't exactly recall their name. They ran the Playboy into the ground, tried to sell their "expertise" to an Indian casino in California, and failed, and then looted the Mint before closing down.
I'm familiar with it as a late relative was an aficionado of the Hefner empire and bought a bunch of Playboy Casino stock, which was transferred to this group. He was in Vegas in the 90s, and called the Mint to see what was happening (another "investor" who can't be bothered reading the quarterly statements or annual reports). They told him the stock had undergone a negative split.
I told him that meant it was on its way to being worthless, and if he could sell, evn for a cent on the dollar, do it. He didn't, and the company liquidated, around 2-3 years ago, after he had passed on to the Big Casino.
I checked the Mint deck on ebay. Lots of them around, bring maybe 4 or 5 bucks. The Mint is too recent a casualty.Even a Mint ashtray brings only a few dollars.
Get yourself a slot machine from a long dead casino, tho, and you're talkin'. Even a program for an old Elvis or Rat Pack Las Vegas show.
I once sold an old Frank Sinatra program for a New Year's Eve party in Florida in which he was singing - on eBay for around $70.
Americans are crazy.
