Guys

Allright I have the thread in the NFL section where I am going to Cancun for spring break. Well after reconsidering some things, the great people of therx have opened my mind to going to vegas. Either way I need definite help in planning this trip. We want to leave on the 10th of March and return on the 16th of March. First thing is if the mods could change the thread title in the NFL section to Las Vegas instead of cancun that would be great. Next I need help planning this trip. My friend and I are in college and love to get waisted and gamble on sports for as cheap as possible. When doing a priceline check it looked live the riviera has about the best deal with flight $556.00. What are everyones feelings about staying there? Also, I have heard rumors in the past about $99 roundtrip flights to vegas, anyone have any info on that? Someone please help me plan this trip to Vegas as I want to have truely the best experience ever. Also what are the best sportsbooks to play with in Vegas? Wouldnt mind staying close to one of them. I have heard the Palms is also great to stay at, but it is off the strip. Keep in mind I am a 23 year old 5th year senior looking to have one last hooraa before graudation in May. Thanks for all your help everyone. Cant wait for break to :dancefool:drink::toast::banger:

Go to Cancun instead, it is much cheaper that time of year. You will have unlimited booze, get laid multiple times if you even try. Bring your laptop and wager online.
Vegas has changed and it is a cash cow for the corporations. I assume you are a college kid on a budget, so your options are to stay in either a less than desirable location (your example: the Riviera) or to cut expenses, thus fun.
Save your Vegas trip for the next Rx Bash in August instead and you will then be surrounded by a bunch of like-minded drunks and degenerates and will have a far better time.
Vegas in March will be rather expensive.

if your on a budget (you mentioned the deal at the riveria) dont bother looking into staying at the palms...

1 piece of advice if your on a budget want to stay on the strip (which i would recommend) and cant afford to stay at a higher priced hotel (like mirage/cesears etc)...then look into places like Tropicana/IP/Flamingo/BarbCoast/Ballys places like that...that are situated dead smack in the middle of the action....you have to compare prices etc and see what fits your budget...

ive been to vegas twice...stayed at the saraha 1st trip NEVER AGAIN will i stay on the top of the strip too far from everything it sucks getting back to your hotel late night bc too far to walk have to flag cabs or take the bus...and TI last time (much better) still a little bit of a walk to the bottom half of the strip and hotels like MB/MGM....

im going back in march myself and will start looking into hotels soon...

I agree with GD. Vegas will always be there. College Spring Break is tough to pull off once you start pushing 30.

Go have fun in the sun.

Going to Vegas on a college budget can be alright if you're just going to party. If you're going to party AND gamble, chances are your budget is going to be WAY too tight to allow you to do everything you really want to do. Go to Cancun and wait for Vegas until you have some money so that you can enjoy it.

I'd recommend going to Cancun if you're on a tight budget. It's easier to get into clubs and a little cheaper in Cancun as it can get real expensive for guys here if you wanna be where the best looking girls are.

Try staying on the south end of the strip. Excalibur and Tropican are pretty cheap places at that end. I find that I always find myself at the south end as it is so you might as well stay there instead of walking, taking a cab or riding the monorail. The problem with the south end is that with sportsbooks, my favorite book is at the Wynn which is more north. But there are plenty of nice books on the south end as well. Just stay out of the book at New York New York, I feel like I'm looking at the ceiling to watch any of the damn TVs in there. You made the right choice of Vegas over Cancun.

you've got to sit upstairs at the espn zone restaurant too see any games thru the glass or you do get cricks in your necks downstairs. who ever designed that POS shoul be shot. i remember watching something briefly there and i had to put my back on the back wall. pitiful

Very good advice. This is an absolute no brainer-go to Cancun. Everyone deserves to spend at least one spring break in Cancun. It's an absolute free for all bender.

Trust me, come August, you'll be itching to come to the Bash and chances are the Rx will spring for the rooms and you can get a cheap flight. Will be much better time, than just getting stupid-drunk, blowing your money, and then bad-mouthing the city.

ive been to cancun for spring break (im 29 now)...its overrated (girl department) compared to what some people have said here...im a GOOD looking guy...its not a 100% lay...i didnt get laid when i went...they just dont spread for you down there...so talking about hooking up with several girls "while your down there" esp if your an AVERAGE looking guy is laughable...if your gonna go...go when mtv is down there...i went the week after and it was a great time...but the girls do A LOT more when the camera's are around...

if your looking for a great time with your boys and unlimited booze etc then you will get what you pay for...we bought some packages that included free admission to the clubs (6night worth) and free booze in the clubs...i went to La Boom 3night...saw Jonathan Peters one nigh...Paul Van Dyk another when it was sponsored by Avalon Boston...we had all inclusive booze in our hotel package...it was nuts (i probably cut off 5 years off my life going there for a week)...in fact looking back on it is more memorable than actually experiencing it...thats how redonkulous it was...

the WORST day of my life was the day we left and our flight want until around 8pm and we had to check out around 10am...everyone was in a coma...the airport was just as bad...if i had access to a gun i mighta put myself outta the misery...

vegas much better IMO then again im not as bad an alcoholic as i was back then....
