FOX should get a good viewership on Sunday
BCS selection show gets prime time on Fox
December 1, 2006
The BCS selection show, with Fox at the controls, moves into prime time for the first time Sunday.
After years of afternoon shows on ABC up against the NFL, Fox is making the announcement at 8 p.m. after football est time.
"These matchups deserve to be unveiled on the biggest stage possible, with as much production value as we can bring to it," Fox Sports President Ed Goren said.
Host Chris Rose with analysts Barry Alvarez and Charles Davis will reveal the teams for the BCS championship game, along with the Orange, Sugar, Rose and Fiesta bowls. Fox is televising all but the Rose Bowl, which remains on ABC.
Saturday's final regular-season games will determine four BCS slots: Florida or Arkansas (SEC), Nebraska or Oklahoma (Big 12), Wake Forest or Georgia Tech (ACC) and Rutgers or Louisville (Big East).
Ohio State (Big Ten), USC (Pac-10) and Boise State (automatic qualifier) are in, with Michigan, Notre Dame and LSU probable for at-large berths.
The mystery of the bowl dance partners is the fun part.
