I have a way to shorten the games even more(if thats what they really want) without messing up the integrity of the game.

In the 1st and 3rd quarters of every game, dont stop the clock after a first down.
In the 2nd and 4th, when the clock matters most, go back to stop the clock after first downs, and get rid of this dumb change of possesion rule.

This would make the games even shorter than they are now, without messing up the game too much.

Its a whole hell of alot better than what we have now.

If thats the way Arena football does it, then guess what? The Arena football league has better clock rules than the NCAA.

that's too many changes, just go back to the old rules.

I agree with that, this is a compromise. I heard that the NCAA is not going to change this rule unless they can find other ways to shorten the games. This is a really big issue for them for some reason.

There is not more changes with this rule than the other rule. Very easy to install this idea.

It's already been decided that there will be changes made to the existing rule in the offseason.

We'll see what changes they implement, but any change is good change. Rule sucks.

The simplest solution would be less TV timeouts...but we all know that's not going to happen. If you go to games, it is excruciatingly slow, since you can't generally buy beer at the game.

This rule is one of the worst rules ever (aside from the tuck rule).

easy solution: let the clock run the way its run this year, change of possessions, kickoffs, EXCEPT for the last 2 minutes of every game.

need to limit the time an official review takes too, like nfl, b/c in these college games i swear the refs are reviewing it for 4-5minutes

My solution... stop wasting 10-20 minutes every game on reviews. This has gotten ridiculous to the point where the refs are now making calls based on the fact they know the play will be reviewed. EVERY fumble is reviewed now for example, and probably one in five touchdowns. Give each coach one review per half, no "booth reviews".

In my opinion, instant replay has made the refs more attrocious in both the NFL and college. I would rather they adopt NFL rules run the clock after first downs and out of bounds than this stupid clock runs after punt and kick offs rule.
