Those refs had very little control of that game....not one penalty sending a team backwards pretty much the entire night...no holding calls, no blocks in the back, people knocking people on their asses after the whistle and the refs looking the other way...300 lb FB's catching screen passes and desperation dump offs rumbling down the field like an 8th grader playing with 3rd graders....just a crazy sight, never again.
:scared:

Is this a typical Hawaii played game this season?

There were 42 ponts scored in one 15 minute period. :think2:

It was a minor miracle the game stayed UNDER :suomi:

All Hawaii games are awesome. Well worth staying up to watch even if you don't take a position.

June Jones is either betting the games, or is purely an idiot...2 years ago in the hawaii bowl, he had a huge lead with 30 seconds to go, refused to kneel down. Instead, had Timmy Chang firing passes all over the place until they scored....The game went over by 3 after they scored with like 3 seconds left in the game. Would not doubt those refs, got some good hawaiin lovin, before and after the game.

They just don't call any penatlies to push either team back..I would love to see the holding stats in Hawaii games vs the rest of CFB.

That was a very strange game...42 points in 15 mins ( a TD every 2:30)

Hawaii was called on the carpet a couple years ago for the refs they had during a Michigan State game when it was obvious the refs were for Hawaii. So then they provided "independent" referees. I don't know where those refs were from but they looked just like the old refs from a couple years ago.

My point is though that not all Hawaii games have such inept refs.

Last night, the wind definitely affected Hawaii's normal offensive play calling, but yes, from what I've seen, it was a normal game on the Island.

I guess the refs are so exhausted from running up and down the field, they don't want to be burdened with any extra work. They're probably wondering how they're going to make it back to the mainland in one piece if they blow a call.

However, Hawaii is a legitimate top 25 team with a lot of talent on both sides of the ball and should be given their props. How the hell they adjust to playing early afternoon away games on the mainland I'll never know.

Oregon State seemed to be playing a bend but don't break type of defense and then would blitz when Hawaii got within the 25 yard line, and for the most part it worked.

Miami (OH) went out there in 2001 with Roethlisberger and got totally jobbed by the zebras with 16 penalties, including a phantom call on the last play of the game that allowed Hawaii to re-kick a FG (that they had just missed) to win the game by one point. And then, of course, a fight broke out. I believe that preceded the Michigan State game by a year or two.

WAC officials like all other officials across the nation are pathetic...but it does seem they might be more biased in some cases, tho not so much last night. A couple of years ago while trying to get bowl-eligible they had to beat 3 consec. opponents incl. N'western and Mich. State. There were some questionable calls as I remember.

Hawaii is not a Top 25 team. OSU and Purdue games proved that but also reinforced that on the rock they are formidable.

Stadium did look like a dump...windy or not.

journey 1st of all you should about hawaii hfootball on the island...there is great pressure for june jones to have hawaii cover with the over every home game....islanders are huge gamblers...its been well known for years....they absolutesly refuse to call holding on hawaii...they hold EVERY PLAY...especially running plays....officials never call a fair game in hawaii...like the fumble in 1st half...that was mysteriously called incomplete???....they should of just thrown a flag and said..."we've got illegally trying to take more than a 1 touchdown lead on the beloved hawaii team in there stadium on the defense....replay the down....for the most part...never bet against hawaii or the over on the island especially when they are the better team...if they can win by 2 td's they will make it 5 td's....

How about when Oregon State sacked Brennan clear back at the OSU 36 yard line, and the officials marked it on the 30?
