I Remember Dec 7th 1941
I remember the tough days gone by
to work you had to go
help make the family grow
we all loved one another
there was the feeling we were
all sister and brother
we had some laughs
and shed some tears
but a war happened to add to our fears
the enemy invaded our shores
the war was right at our doors
our country wasn't very steady
but we all pulled together and got ready
young men who hardly knew what
life was all about
got caught up in a terrible war
and many would never get out
many of us cried and many
were to mourn
and many a father would never see their new born
and when the last shot was fired
we were all very tired
we went back and tried to get ourlives together
and all prayed that the world would be better
it was a very high cost for the loved ones
and for all the lives that were lost
and for those who were maimed
and will forever live in pain
we pray dear God let it not be in vain
