A summary of it's utility on a Friday:
A total of approximately 21 games to bet on Friday, NBA and NCAAB (approximation because I'm going on lines I saw at pinny during the day not sky, sky if anything would have had less).
The lines for NCAAB on Saturday (which you can bet on Friday and still get the 1/2 point) were up at approximately 11:00-12:00 East Coast Time. The 1/2 point ceased to apply after 12:00 AM West Coast Time, or 3 AM E.T.
So you're looking at a 3, max 3.5-4 hour window on which you can use the 1/2 point for Saturday basketball (of which we all know the card is enormous). For those of us that may actually have a semi-normal social life and maybe go out occasionally on Friday night, these hours aren't exactly ideal for looking at Saturday lines and betting accordingly.
Just for those that were interested in the utility of the Friday b-ball 1/2 point. I know everyone appreciates it for football if you can wait until later in the week for lines to open there. Just thought I'd write this up since alot of questions circulate regarding this.
