Sox are working on it. The agent is brutal and trying to get like 14 mill a year and the Sox want to pay a lot less. It probably could go either way. He looks good on film and what a rotation with him for Sox fans. Does the play REALLY want to sign? If so he can and will get plenty. If not he won't.
My guess is that the deal will get done at the last hour because, Matsuzaka will be totally humiliated if he goes back to Japan. For him it is a question of honor. Boros would also lose outif no deal is made because, if he doesn't come thru with a deal no Japanese player will go near him again. Given that the Sox already overpaid for Drew, Boros owes them one.
