Do we now say that the Sad Diego Chargers without question out smarted the Atlanta Falcons by letting the Falcons draft Vick who was and still is a big question mark?

Is there any doubt that Tomlinson is by far the better football player?

Tomlinson is a HOFer...Vick should be playing a different position. There is no doubt.

Chargers are con-artists....

Trade Vick

Get Tomlinson, Brees, and Tim Dwight

then just a couple years ago....

Trade Eli Manning

Get Phillip Rivers, Shawn Merriman, and Nate Kaeding

Unbelievable

Tomlinson is headed to be one of the all time greats. Vick will be lucky to hold his job and is very questionable. San Diego did just fine.

Obviously LT is far better. Hindsight is 20-20.

So you think it was impossible for anyone to NOT know this was a great deal at the time the trade was made?

I for 1 thought Vick was a huge gamble at QB and I think I was right about that because not only is he too short, he does'nt have a clue how to read defenses. Besides the fact he throws a perfect spiral, he can't begin to pick the right players to throw to.

Tomlinson was obviously a stud running back and sure nobody could have predicted he would be this great, but choosing a running back with a top 5 pick is far less risky than picking a QB with a top 5 pick.

And a running QB at that! Just because the media says someone is great does'nt mean they are great. Vick still isn't an average QB to this day.

I would have never drafted Vick that high, so for you to say hindsight is 20/20 just does'nt work here. This was a steal and always was a steal!

Tomlinson looks like a HOF'er. Certainly.
If you're a team drafting players to put 'em in the HOF and not win that's great.
When SD loses again in the 1st round and Vick is playing for a NFC title those TD's really dont mean much, unless you're a HOF voter.

Funny how a QB can have one of the best win % as a starter and break a record of his own, for most rushing yards by a QB but get no acknowledgement for it.

In this day and age of Fantasy geeks perception of a winner has changed though. All stats, no substance.

Vick will only get rid of his mountain of detractors by winning a SB. Which is having to do alot more on his part than most players to prove he has value.

If Vick makes the SB before Tomlinson, did SD still get the better end of the deal because Tomlinson is a better fantasy player?

Saying Tomlinson is, by far a better football player, is stretching it just a bit IMO. I'd like to see what his numbers would be if he was in Oakland.

He's no Barry Sanders and Barry couldn't even make it to the SB.

QB is one of, if not the most difficult position to play in a major professional sport. RB is far from that. Win % speaks volumes of a QB's productivity.

Dont forget Tomlinson went #5 overall, thus 3 other teams besides the Falcons were unsure he would be the stud he has turned out to be and went in another direction.

It's official: Vick will never win a Super Bowl. I doubt he'll have many more opportunities to make the playoffs either. Vick is a serious waste of money and is the most over rated player in NFL history.

ChiTown is a Vick fan.

Vick is not even a good QB! I could careless how many yards he runs for because 1 of the reason he gets that many yards is because he is a QB! If he was a running back there's no way he would gain that many yards rushing.

The reason? Defenses have to worry about the pass when the QB has the ball. That gives him an advantage that running backs don't have. Sure he gets yards running, but those are the yards that he should get passing! The passing yards he does not get is because he is running the ball when he should be passing the ball.

That's why he isn't even an average QB!

Plus he never finds the open receiver and this is also the reason he ends up running the ball. This is not what the QB should be doing.

It has nothing to do with winning the Super Bowl. But I would rather have Tomlinson running the ball in the Super Bowl, than have Vick as my QB in the Super Bowl. No contest for me!

I am slightly confused by these comments. Isn't the point of football in any level to gain yards, get first downs, and score points. Does it really matter how one goes about doing this?

"Sure he gets yards running, but those are the yards that he should get passing!"

WHY??? As long as the chains are moving and points go on the scoreboard, who cares how it is done. QB's running, RB's throwing. I don't care how it is done as long as it is done.

Not vouching for Vick at all here....just not understanding your logic.

Cubsmac the problem is that the closer you get to the end zone you run out of extra space for him to run. He's not going to score many points with those 20 yard runs in the middle of the field.

Another way to look at it is this, More players are closer to him the closer you get to the end zone meaning every defensive player has a shot at tackling him. The field does'nt open up close to the end zone like it can when your on your own 20.

And that's the problem! Getting touchdowns and not field goals. Mannings deadly when he gets close to the end zone because of his arm and he sees the field. Vick is no threat at all in the same situation. That's a big difference between an all-pro and a rookie QB.

I don't like Vick but sometimes I wonder if people realize how bad his receivers are. Honestly, the best receiver on the team is the damn Tight End. That is pretty sad.

True, but Tom Brady has made all his receivers look pretty good this year and the majority of them were taken off the scrap heap.
