Yeah but that's not debatable - if you throw your challenge flag within 2 minutes it's automatically a 15 yard and free 1st down penalty - parcells knew this - he just wanted to make sure the saints could not get a play off.

Yeah, it's a delay tactic the coaches used to do - in order to stop the clock late in the game coaches would throw the flag and try to challenge things that were not even challegeable - in essence, they were using the challenge flag as a timeout - that's why the refs must initiate the challenge in the last 2 minutes - Parcells was only throwing the flag to prevent the saints from gettign their play off - he know it was illegal.
To be honest I don't care which side wins this game but the entire NFL these days is about refs and replays. Natrually I am all for fair play but the NFL has gone off the deep end rule wise.
There was a call 2 weeks ago where Peerless Price had a catch taken away because he didn't "pause" after getting both feet down on a sideless "catch."
Wtf? Is he supposed to go all matrix on out routes?? That rule makes absolutely no sense. Hockuley probably felt like an a*shole trying to explain that BS.
I'm not sure if this game gets out of hand like it did, had the Saints not caught that break on the PF call on Parcells before the half ,where he threw out the red flag inside two minutes!
