You can definitely make a case for Brees. The numbers he is putting up are just as impressive as LT.

Brees is on pace to throw for 5000 yards with 30 TDs.

Brees is playing real well and in any other year he might have won.....but this year belongs to L.T., no doubt about it....

LT will win...I don't think that is even up for debate. BUT, just for the sake of discussion, Brees has numbers that are MVP worthy.

Both having great years.

Figured Tomlinson would be the unanimous choice, so decided to vote for Brees.

He should get some votes for the year he is having especialy coming off major shoulder surgery in the off season.

Everyone knew and expected LT to have a good year. Question marks surrounded Brees.

Brees is the feel good story after being released by the Chargers and going to a franchise that was struggling and still had the post-Katrina feel good vibe. If Brees does throw for 5000 yards then I think he has to get it, regardless of LT breaking a short standing TD record.

No one knew how Brees would react after being released and going to a struggling team as well as coming off major shoulder surgery. As much as I love LT, in my opinion I would pick Brees just because his achievements were not expected by anyone and have exceeded what a lot of other QBs have done in the past decade. In fact, a few " experts " predicted his career was almost over. I think in the grand scheme of things, his season will be a better one than LT's due to a variety of factors.

Unless something changed, I think the MVP is voted on before the playoffs start.

I agree with this and I personally hate co-anything awards.

Other than Joe Horn, Brees doesnt have the wide-outs worth mentioning and made these kids stars in their own right.
