The NBA is going back to the old leather ball on January 1 this year. I expect shooting to be down early on since players will need to readjust to the old ball.

I disagree. These boys have been playing with the old one all their life. I would think it was harder to make the adjustment to the new one. Coaches will be throwing in the old one way before the change takes place.

Will the NBA Switch back to using Leather balls before the end of the Season?
NBA must switch to a leather basketball for the remainder of the season for yes to be the winner. No Parlays. Any wagers placed after outcome becomes public knowledge will be graded as No Action. No Refunds. No overlimit wagers. Max $100

Yes -150
No +110

You could bet this just the other day at BoDog

Only 100.00 limits but it was a steal. :toast:

From what I have seen shooting seems to be up, I don't know if the stats are going to say so , shooting seems to be up this year.

Anyone know what the actual percentages are from this year compared to last year?

Just read an article that mentioned 3pt% is down about a 1.5%. Unsure about FG% as a whole.

Apparently they are changing the ball because players were getting cut by it????? Apparently Jason Kidd complained of cuts on his fingers because of the new ball. That's ridiculous.

I have the new ball - whenever I bring it it seems like everything goes in - it feels great and sticks off the backboard - it sort of bites off the backboard -

I've dribbled and handled it for a little while, and it is definitely more slippery than the leather. Didn't get a chance to shoot it, but some of the shit the ball has been doing off the backboard and rim so far this season has been absolutely outrageous.

An awful game-typing 3 attempt by Vince Carter would've NEVER gone in with the old ball...but instead, it died on the rim and went in, and cost the Wizards a W.

Good riddance.
