How much money do they really make and do they still recieve houses and cars??? Are boosters still giving them gifts??? Seems to me that they should get some beneficial help since they make Universities rich and prosperous....what famous athletes come to mind that you know got paid under the table and what coaches tolerate the practice??? I can remember the Sam Gilbert days at UCLA....Alcindor and Walton must have cleaned up....:money8:
the stipends aren't huge, and at major programs they aren't paid nearly what they should be considering the $$ make for the university, but college athletes get loads of free gear, shirts, shoes, sweats, hats, hoodies, etc.
also get a bowl gift (which at major bowls are NICE; i'm sure whatever bowl sony sponsored gave out PS3s, teh sugar bowl sponsors gave ALL players $350 DVD players), they do get alot of perks, not the least of which is all the free shit the community gives them, whether that be through free food when they go to fast food places, discounts on other stuff, etc.
