Hester ran back two kickoffs for scores Monday night for his fifth and sixth return touchdowns of the season, an NFL record.

The BUCS have never returned a kickoff for a TD in their history!!!!

Who would be considered ther Bucs best return guy over the years? I can't think of anyone... When you think back to their really good pass catchers they were all more of the possession type receivers.

Does anyone know how close TB has come to a KO return?

Have they ever taken one nearly all the way back? It seems we hear this on every kick return from them and I can't even recall anyone breaking one past mid field.

they have 5 TDs on kick returns in Preseason games!

The Bucs are the only team in the NFL without a kickoff return for a touchdown during the regular season. Before the start of the 2006 Football season, the number of regular season kickoff returns stands at 1,764 without a return for a TD.

And Hester only went back on kickoffs just starting last week. Imagine if he'd have been doing ti all year. He'd probably have 10 returns by now.

Still, I'd have guessed the record had been more than 5. Seems strangely low.

I remember a few years back they returned one for a touchdown but of course there was a block in the back

also, no team that has lost to Tampa in the regular season has gone on to win a super bowl....that leaves Cinci, Philly, and Washington out this year.

It might seemed strangely low after watching Hester but not really...what he's doing is unheard of ....especially in this era of tremendous speed all over the field which makes it that much more impressive.

The Tampa Bay record is one of my favorites.....I cannot believe it. I just can't. If they are on the TV (not often in Texas) then I really try hard to catch each kickoff and view it...not just listen to it, which is what I do with many games....listen that is. Part of the problem here is that they know it is a problem and if the people involved in the 'exercise' had been ignorant of the issue then we would have had one by now. Nope.

I love it. It doesn't really matter in the scheme of life, but I would like to see the event unfold on tv (better yet live but likely on tv if at all) when it happens. I will be yelling (yelling a lot) and my wife won't understand....

31st season and first game played on September 12th, 1976 when I was seven years old. Not once...... not once...how can that be?

I want to see this broken!!

I wonder if the special teams coach opposing the Bucs actually says anything more complicated than "lineup, kick the ball, make the tackle. And just watch out for the reverse."

Yes he has 6 return TD's, but they were not all on kickoffs. Taking back a kickoff is about 50 times harder than a punt (or a FG for that matter). :lolBIG:
