cost 1 billion? yeah right. Lucky if goes under 1.5 billion.

Agree. Still would be a smart move. Would definitely be in the regular Super Bowl rotation not to mention it would host every other huge event in the country.

The stadium they have now is the biggest shithole of any nfl stadium i've been too.

Quallcom has to compete...it is a dump and the first row of sideline seats are at least 75 feet from the field

The price seems ridiculous but imagine this. Say on average he charges "seat licenses" of an average 10k per seat, most stadiums have been selling them and for the Cowboys they are a no brainer. At 80,000 seats he is going to net $800 million. Throw in naming rights and he has paid for the stadium before a game has even been played. Rumors are he will charge at least $80 for the cheapest seats in the house. He already has a cash cow, he will just make it better through this. Jerry Jones is among the shrewdest guys in the sports world.

This is why I could never understand why the Jets needed to beg for money so bad to get a stadium built. In NYC they could easily command an average of 20k a seat for 75,000 seats. Voila you raised $1.5 billion, about the cost of the stadium they were proposing. The only reason why these owners beg for money is because they want to put it in their pockets.

I would think that owners who want public funding would have to share the revenue as well. Owners who finance on their own wouldn't have to share with the public (except for taxes, etc.)

The Vikings' owner would do well to learn a lesson here.

I am wondering if Dallas will sell that place out at 80,000 and 100,000 seats.

anyone have an idea if Dallas can sell that many seats to every game?

I am not sure if they think there will be 80,000 to 100,000 for each regular season games, I see that as more for the very large events.

If you really read in to this, what i think is nice is that Jerry really wanted to "cheap seats" to have pretty good views. They are making a claim that this place was designed specifically so the UPPER LEVELS are closer to the field than ANY OTHER STADIUM in the US. I would like to see how that works out.

As far as getting enough people in the seats, Jerry will not have a problem with that. There are so many people that come from all over the state, even from Mexico just to be at a Cowboy game.

Many people have much hatred for Jones, but he is a very smart guy when it comes to this kind of business. He does not get his due sometimes, in my opinion.

I dont see why not.

FedEx Field in Maryland (Redskins' stadium) has over 90K seats and Dallas has the same rabid fan base (if not better by a slim margin).

If gentlemen's bathroom is full, you go to the ladies' door, flip the sign over and enter.

Regular capacity will be 80,000; it can be expanded for specific events like the Superbowl to 100,000.

And yes, they could consistently sell that out, not a problem IMO. Current capacity is 65K+ and has something like 136 consecutive sellouts and 253 of the past 257 home games.

I have season tickets and have no trouble getting twice face or better for games I don't attend, especially if it's a div game or MNF.

I love the concept, it's gonna kick serious ass. But honestly, I find the whole bunker club thing a little disturbing.
