Played a great (hilarious) monster in Young Frankenstein as a younger (and already bald ) man. Fine actor. Also remember when he did 'Dueling Brandos' with John Belushi when he hosted SNL. Great stuff. Will miss him.

Sad to hear...ELR is one of my favorites. One of those shows I can watch the same episodes over and over (Seinfeld being another).

Young Frankenstein Is

the most clever & funny movie of all time. My lifelong obsession w/Terri Garr began with "what knockers, why sank you dokter"! A classic.

I believe he was also the investigator in that smut movie 'Hardcore' with George C Scott back in the late 70's, I think that was the first I remember seeing him.

To me he will always be the monster in Young Frankenstein (that's fronken-shteen). That's the first movie I ever paid twice to see.

I still laugh just thinking about the scene where Gene Hackman plays the blind monk and has the monster over for dinner and a smoke. Kills me.

He was one of those actors where you would never think he was playing a role, every role he played seemed to be made for him cause he made it his own, great actor...
