Seems like a decent card.

I played 3 plays tonight really small.

Alan Belcher +124
I was impressed with this kid against Okami (who whipped Kalib Starnes). Okami had his back and in an unbelivably tight body triangle and Belcher got to his feet and about broke Okami's back and broke the triangle, but Okami still had his back. Belcher has decent skill and a lot of guts. Santiago is a good fighter, but a questionable chin (as Chris Leben showed).

Shonie Carter -140
I may be getting sucked in here, but I think Shonie knows this is his last shot. I took a flyer on Davis against Forrest Petz and he won, but he is more of a pure boxer and I think Shonie's experience carries him here. Plus, UFC doesn't want Shonie to lose as he at least has some charisma. Shonie is just hanging on for a decent payday against Serra in a trilogy match once he loses to GSP in February.

Jeff Joslin +246
Joslin was robbed against Jon Fitch (Fitch fought really dirty w/ an intentional headbutt). He has a 5-2 record, which won't impress people, but he is tough. This is similar to Jason Macdonald vs. Ed Herman at UFN 7. Koscheck destroyed Goulet, who beat Joslin, but Koscheck was less than stellar standup and I think Joslin can make him 1-dimensional where he constantly goes for the takedown.

No plays on other fights, but opinions are as follows:

Heath over Valimaki by Dec
Fiorvanti over Menne by KO
Larson over Nakumura by Sub
Byrnes over Clark by Early sub (mismatch of the night)
Parisyan over Fickett by Dec
Sanchez over Riggs by TKO

Sound picks, HD. I threw some tiny wagers on Menne, Nakamura and Riggs as well as Joslin but those are mainly for action. Joslin is the best value on the card. Shonie is a survivor too. Solid striking and a good chin always make him a decent play.

Thanks Hans!

Here are some of the results for the undercard fights (Per Fight Network):

Logan Clark def. Steve Byrnes by unanimous decision, (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Brock Larson def. Keita Nakamura - Unanimous Decision (29-28 all)

Luigi Fiovarani def. Dave Menne - TKO (ref stoppage - strikes) 4:44 R1

Alan Belcher def. Jorge Santiago - KO (high right kick) 2:45 R3

David Heath def. Victor Valimaki - Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)

Belcher cashes, but I was waaay off on Logan Clark. Good thing I didn't bet that one.

I got clobbered, but at least I didn't put much money on it. Pretty lackluster show too. I hope some of these guys are gone for good: Shonie, Menne, even Riggs, maybe. That guy has some talent but can't seem to put it together.
