Miranda can punch, no dought, but I still think his power is overated.

Middleweight Willie "Gladiator" Gibbs tore ligaments in his knee during his first round loss to Colombian power-puncher Edison Miranda, Saturday night. Gibbs promoter Rich Cappiello emphatically stated "It was the damage he incurred in his knee, during the knockdown, that hindered him from getting back up. Anyone who knows Willie, or has seen him fight, knows that he's not nicknamed 'Gladiator' for nothing."
Gibbs (20-2, 16 KO's), who now has a cast around the injured knee, was staggered by a Miranda right hand on the top of the head, with just under 30 seconds remaining in the first stanza of their HBO Boxing After Dark headlining bout. The punch resulted in Gibbs twisting awkwardly as he reeled toward the ropes. After a barrage of Miranda punches forced Gibbs to the canvas, he returned to his feet just after referee Tommy Kimmons completed the ten-count.
"When Willie was turned around from that punch, he badly twisted his knee," stated Cappiello. "Willie was completely coherent, and more than able to continue. Immediately after the fight, he told me that he hurt his knee, and when he initially tried to get up, it buckled, thus preventing him from beating the count. How well would he have been able to continue on, given the nature of his injury? I don't know. But I'll tell you one thing; Willie Gibbs is a warrior, and he would have rather left the ring on a stretcher, than the way things transpired Saturday night."
