They are missing the boat on this. I have said this for years. A game like tonites is a no nothing game on Sunday's but is MUST SEE TV tonite (if you can get the game, LOL).

No reason to compete with CFB but they could go Friday nite, Sunday Nite, Monday nite and Tuesday nite or something like that. This would be HUGE for their ratings as gamblers, alcoholics, football freaks, hometown fans of the teams playing, etc, ALL love this stuff.

The fans love it, but players don't like those short weeks regardless of the fact they get to be on national TV.

genearte another 1.7 million from tv contracts, and increase the average player salary by 500k, and I have a hunch they would like it just fine.

But after a short week, you get an extra 2-3 days off.

I'm guessing within 3 years they'll figure this out and have games every Thurs, Fri, Sun and Mon nights.

Something tells me that the extra 2-3 days off don't equal up against the toll that playing on a short week has.

Obviously more games of this nature mean more money, but I'm looking at this from strictly a physical point of view from the players. NFLPA may not like it.

Other US leagues have more demanding schedules. Super 14 (rugby competition) has some schedules of playing saturday night in south africa and then playing friday night in new zealand. That's about a 5.5 day turnaround, but the real killer is that they're travelling half way around the world and at a totally different altitude. Rugby players also play near 80 minutes non stop, unlike the breaks nfl players get between plays, if they're even on the field at all. As pro atheletes NFL players have it easy.

I like it this way already... helps put the spotlight on that one game that's coming up in the week and you can look all the threads pertaining to that single game instead of scouring the forums looking for insight on one game out of 10 other cluttered up. Besides, always nice to know there's a game to look forward to later during a week instead of having them become devalued by all the games going on at once. Who knows, I'm high, I'm done with my semester, and it's 7 AM because I haven't slept yet.... I"M CRAZZZAY
