whatever dude. i buy stuff from frys all the time and have never had any problems.
I guess it depends on the type of electronic shopping you do. I usually go to Fry's or Circuit City once a week. My personal problems with Fry's is that they advertise refurbished items in their ads. To me that tells me they have some piece of shit failed item that constantly was returned because it sucked or broke so they decided to repair the items in house and put them back on the shelf and sell 20% less than a brand new item. But then that 20% savings you receive is in the form of a mail in rebate which most consumers never actually mail in. Now just the fact that Fry's is able to advertise a refurbished item gives me great concern because that means each fry's location has so much of a returned/refurbished item in stock that they feel they need to unload it to the consumer. No other Electronics store advertises their refurbished, open boxed items, or floor model items in their weekly ad.
Plus if you look closely not each electronic store sells the exact same model of an item. For instance If you buy a Panasonic 42 inch LCD TV at Best Buy the model number will be slightly different then the one you buy at Fry's. Fry's may offer the similar item a little cheaper but it is also a lesser model made with generic components at some mom and pop production house being backed with the Panasonic name for credibility. I would rather pay the two hundred extra dollars at best buy or circuit city where the website offers online customer reviews on the product before you purchase it.
Finally my local Fry's never gets the brand new CD's on their release date. They usually get them 3 weeks after all of the stores get them. Fry's also claims to price match items with their competitors but the whole process for them to price match takes up about an hour of your time. While at circuit city it takes less than a minute. Speaking of their price matching guaranteee... I bought a DVD burner for my computer at Fry's last year (It was their own generic brand). I paid $49.99 for it at regular price. Then the following week Fry's advertised the same exact burner for $29.99 so naturally I wanted to collect my $20.00 difference. When I went to the store with my receipt they told me it was a different model they were advertising. I then took a look at my UPC number from my receipt and compared it the UPC number from the $29.99 burner and the number was off by one digit. but both burners were the exact same. So their con is whenever they advertise something on sale they change the item numbers so they don't have to refund the difference to people that paid regular price weeks before. They do the same on major brand products like pioneer and sony by not using the UPC scan system. If you look at their price stickers on their products they put their own internal stock item number on their price tags and use that instead of the UPC system.
I could go on and on about this sham of a company but only frequent shoppers would agree about how much of a joke fry's is. If you only purchase electronics once a year during the holiday season then fry's and their cheap prices should impress you.
