I dont care what anyone says, Marty Schottenheimer has to be the most underated coach in the history of football.

I know the guy has never gotten past the AFC championship game before, but you have to look at the big picture.

Everywhere hes gone, an undeniable trend has taken place.

He always leaves a team in better shape then it was when he got there, and when he does leave, the teams he leaves nevers reaches the level that it reached when he was there.

Cleveland has never been the same since he left.
Kansas City has never been the same.

One of the biggest mistakes Daniel Synder has made in Washington was getting rid of Schottenheimer after only one year, he did go 8-8 in that one season. I have to think, if he was still in Washington right now, the Skins would be no where near 4-9 right now.

Now look at him in San Diego, he has brought that team to levels that it has never seen before. They are the favorite to go to the SuperBowl.

There are only a few coaches in NFL history that I rank above him. WALSH,Parcells,Belliachek, Lombardi, Peyton etc.....

He is trully a great one, but always gets bashed. Kind of like Bobby Cox.

How is Marty taking them to levels they have never seen before when the Chargers were in the Super Bowl under Bobby Ross in 1995 and Marty has yet to get there with the Chargers?

I knew this question would come up.

San Diego was never a threat to win the Super Bowl that season. The AFC was a complete joke back then. The Chargers of today vs that team that Bobby Ross had would destroy that team of about 10 years ago.

Getting rid of Marty was one of the worst decisions in recent Redskins history.

So you have Marty as the most underrated coach of all-time, yet you have a first year coach yet to win a playoff game ranked ahead of him???

Oh my god, I just now noticed that Chop listed Payton over Schotty.

The fact that you even mentioned him in the same breath as those other guys is outrageous. He's not even better than Schotty right now, or Tony Dungy, or a bunch of other coaches.

The guy hasn't even coached a full season in the NFL yet.

This homerism is seriously getting out of hand. Unreal.
