He deserves more than 10 probably, but I doubt he'll get more than that. One of the true superstars in the NBA, they can't sit him out for long. The Nugs missing the playoffs would hurt the league.

On a related note, if the Nugs were trying to trade for AI before, they will surely pick up their efforts now. They'll go close to 0-10 without Melo.

That's the part that's going to be interesting-because your right & it would end up costing the NBA a lot of $$$.

Maybe Melo will tape 'Stop Snitching Part Two' where he pleads with all 15,000 in attendance to pretend they didn't see anything.

Isiah Thomas should get 10 games also. Better for the Bulls if he gets none as the Bulls need his "contributions" for Greg Oden.

NBA Player Props How many games will Carmelo Anthony be suspended? - Odds
18 or More +160

This is where my money is.

by the way, the lines are up on all the offenders at bodog. I wish they had over/unders instead of the lines they posted.

cklennon, let me ask you a question. With the negative incidents in the NFL, why isnt football getting the ire of the public like the NBA?

I'm sorry, but I don't recall many NFL incidents of this magnitude. This and DET/IND? All players fighting each other at once, including many bench players, and in both cases fighting IN the stands, and one case fighting the fans themselves? I just don't think NFL "incidents" have the potential to be that rediculous.

AND off-the-field "incidents" really are not even in the same ballpark. This is on national TV, sportscenter for the next week, and every fucking NBA writer and idiot commentator (Stephen A Smith, Jim Rome) will be harping on it. Some old school motherfuckers like Charles Barkley and Bill Walton will be interviewed by phone, the Stanford BAND IS ON THE FIELD tape might get a clip in a sportscenter list...its everywhere.

Seems like the NFL has a better spin machine than the Association:

THe guy on ESPN says 8. The prior suspensions have been similar. I hope it is a lot longer. You cannot sucker punch a guy right on the button. Terrible cheap shot. I hope he gets 25 but less seems much more likely.

Anthony's stock has dropped significantly from this. Never thought he was that stupid or capable of being such a loser.
