Do you spend more on your parents for Christmas or do they spend more on you

I think it is very wrong not to spend more on your parents for Christmas than they spend on you. I know quite a few people that get presents from their parents like they did when they were a kid.

I spend on my parents at least 10X more than they spend on me (20x this year).

I guess on your children we won't count but I know some guys whose parents act like these guys are still kids and give them hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gifts. I think it is sort of wrong, if you are old enough to be supporting yourself. I will give a break to anyone in college or who is having a tough time financially but to me Christmas is about GIVING. I would much rather give than recieve.

I say it is payback time for your parents.

Just wanted to know what others felt?

Icey Some parents of some people where not good people...did you think that some do not even keep in contact with there children? those for sure get 0

again im not sure where you get the AMOUNT of the gift means anything its the THOUGHT why is it always the $$$ you spend on something that makes it great?

good points. I guess my problem comes from a few things. I know someone who won't spend alot on their parents but almost EXPECTs dozens of gifts from there parents because that is the way it has always been. I just think there comes a time when the tables have turned and it becomes about the parents now. Christmas to me is about children, the less fortunate, and our parents.

donate that big gift item in your parents name to someone that is in need really, really bad like a single mom or family that is extremely poor...and cann ot even afford a small tree or to pay there heat bill

we have so many poor and homeless people in this world that are truly in need...

My mother gets a very nice gift from me each year. Last year I got her the scuba and the roomba. She loves them both.

christmas is a big deal to me but it goes through my children 1st. i spent some time at local vet centers back home in jersey during christmas season the past 10 yrs. these vets have some great if not incredible stories. it makes me sick that someone that bled for our flag for me to do something as simple as posting an opinion in a sports forum lets say had to struggle through life when they came home.
