David Stern:

"Carmello Anthony will not be suspended. Instead, he must stand toe to toe at center court and not leave the jump ball circle and fight like a man. No running away like a little girl or hitting men that aren't looking."

On the night of the 2007 NBA draft lottery, David Stern sat in the temporary bleachers lining the NBA's Secaucus, New Jersey, television studios and seethed. The three finalists had been revealed for a chance to draft Greg Oden and Kevin Durant with the Nos. 1 and 2 picks: Portland, Seattle and Atlanta.
"The Pacific Northwest and the god-damn Deep South," Stern snarled in a hushed voice. "Give me a big market!"

Not saying he wasn't a bright guy and a visionary in many ways but the times makes the man as much as the man makes the times for a lot of figureheads (presidents fall into this category more than people would like to admit)

The rise of cable television in the early 90's and the internet in the late 90's obviously has been huge for the commercialization of every sports league. Maybe not a turnkey operation but I don't exactly think he was Steve Jobs or Bill Gates, let's put it that way.

If he’s the one that is responsible for turning the NBA from a team sport to a league of a bunch of individuals then I’m not in favor of that .
And also if he’s the one that came up with the idea or pushed for the idea of player caps I’m not in favor of that either .
In any case RIP regardless .
