I am off to buy a laptop computer. I need one for use in hotels when on the road. I really dont need it for porn like everyone else nor do I really need to burn alot of items with this computer. I can use my desktop for that. Now of the choices below, alot of people would say that these computers suck and there isnt enough memory, etc!! Well for 99% of America (except for sexual predators), these computers have MORE memory than they can EVER use!

I mean it isnt like I wont buy another computer in 2 years or so. I buy a new desktop every 2 years or so and at these prices, I might buy another one within 1 year. But again, I really want this computer JUST for use on the road in WI/FI situations. I wont even use the laptop computer at home!!

First of all, let me start with my favorite store on the planet, BEST BUY! I should say that I have been a REWARD ZONE member for over 2 yearsw back to the day when it cost money to be a member. SO I will get a little money back from this purchase from that. But no more than $20 or so. So that doesnt play a huge role.

In other words, I dont really need the printer, but the free refill color and black ink cartridges are nice to have. So the $60 is a nice savings. This price of $499 is a cash price, no rebate required. And I will get around $20 back from the reward zone program I believe. This being my favorite store in the universe should be the obvious choice, but here are a few other options that cost a little less.

==============================================================
==============================================================

Here is the best option at Circuit City. I love this sotre for obvious reasons as well. In this ad, it stats a $150 rebate, but in my local ad, it is the same price, but only a $50 rebate. Thus only around $449 plus tax for the computer.

This is a great deal with my small discount, but it does require more of an outlay than the other choices before the rebate. Also, I see something called WINDOWS VISTA. What is the HELL is that and is it needed?

Any help is appreciated as i am going to buy one of these today or tomorrow

JMAN, I have "deep pockets, but short arms!"

I am not worried about the $50 gift card at all and had actually forgotten about it until now. I assume that they must be good for at least 1 year or so

Me too. It's a total piece of shit and has been sent in at least 5 times in 2 years. I'm a part of that settlement. $25.00 Woohoo!

Gateway sucks EVEN WORSE. I've got 610 Desktop, Beautiful top end computer that is also the BIGGEST PIECE OF COMPUTER CRAP I have ever owned. Gateway well aware that they made sooo many major mistakes with the 610 yet they will not replace with a comparable model despite the fact that it has had to be shipped in for total system failures an average of every FOUR months for the past three years. Their customer service is the WORST by far that I have ever encountered. I will never buy another Gateway product as long as I live. E V E R.

The Toshiba is so unreliable I passed it onto my 4 year old to play her games on. I bought myself a Vaio and I love it.

Caveat Emptor Bro - Those two companies make shit computers, I wouldn't own one of their products if they were giving them away, they're nothing but headaches.

PO69 I have piece of advice for you. You only need to know two words when considering purchasing a new laptop.

Hewlett and Packard.

Trust me.

P.S how did you win the $100 large ?

I won a $1000 buy in poker tournament last weekend. It was the Scotty Nguyen invitational in Louisiana. It actually paid more than $100 grand too! 435 players started the tourney that lasted 2 days.

I would buy and HP, but no one can even come close to the prices above for an HP. As long as the quality holds up, then each of those computers is WAYYY more than enough for 95% of the US, well except for sexual predators. They made new a little more memory

PO69 maybe from the money you get from selling that huge gold diamond bracelet you won with your $100,000 you could get one of those laptops with the HUGE widescreen. they are sweet:suomi:

I will post the link as soon as they post the results on their website. Here is the general link for the tournament. It is possible that they wont post the results out of respect for the players who might not want it posted. But I do know that when we hit the final 40 that we had to give them our DL and sign a consent form for use in any form that they see fit. You can actually call the casino and they will tell you the names of the top 10 I am sure. Green, they accepted alternates up until the first break, so there were 435 people in the event. The alternate list actually went to up to 500 people, but not enough people got knocked out early enough for that many to get in.

The website says that the tourney was 3 days, but we actually played it all in 2 days since we had the time and the 40 players agreed

That's cool, just post the general link. Scotty likes to or used to like to sing karaoke at our place, and was just curious if there were any names I knew.
