This team has it all.

Miller is a great leader, a great passing PG, and a very good defender.
Korver might be the best 3 point shooter in the league.
Igodaula is a star waiting to happen and one of the most athletic in the league.
Dalembert is as good as any center not named Shaq, Yao, or Duncan.
Webber can still hit shots.

This team is for real and I bet them at 85-1 to win the East and 88-1 to win the title. The 88-1 wasn't a great bet but it was all I could find at the time until 15 seconds later I checked Oly and realized I was stupid.

Anyway, this team could very very easily win their division and make the playoffs.

Don't sleep on this team. They are vastly improved with Miller in instead of Iverson and this team is set up very nicely. I'd put them #2 behind the Heat. Miller getting the ball to these guys is going to be huge.

You heard it here first.

Webber is godawful. if he gets the pill more and is happy he might play better and make a run at this thing, but who knows, he'll prob. be the complacent, overrated, broken down PF he's been lately and suck.

Dalembert is the man though.

Yea I was kinda hesitant to mention Webber in there. My reasoning was more about the young guys getting chances to show what they can do.

Webber has taken over fellow former Detroit native Derrick Coleman's team spot with the Sixers(aka 6' 10" softie of an overpaid overrated oldie skating on a weakly owned and feeble managed franchise)..

Sixers ownership and management has been cr@p for over twenty years now, ever since Pat Williams and Billy Cunningham left, it's been all down hill sans a small Pat Croce owned blip of an era, of which had pitiful drafts.

Billy King's fate will be decided by the three 1st Round picks this year.

hows the 76ers depth

and whos their go to guy final 5 mins of the game when all NBA games are decided

who takes their last shot, and wheres the guy like Kobe, Wade, Lebron, Melo Iverson that can take the game over

starting 5 looks like it has some potential to be a nice group...but they need more depth, a leader, a go-to guy when the games on the line

If they are down by 3, then Korver's the guy. Not many in the NBA can shoot it better. He can't create his own shot. Giving it to Igodaula is your best option if you need a shot created IMO.

Miller's a leader. Not many agree with me but I think he's a top 5 PG for sure. He does it all except scoring 50 which isn't needed with his great passes.

More depth would be nice for sure... Joe Smith is old and overpaid but he still has a decent game.

PS...where's the defense? probably the most important part of any team

-korver's defense is flat out terrible
-webber is old and was always an average defender even in his prime
-dalembert has good presence in the middle
-andre miller is an average NBA defender
-iguodala is not experienced enough yet to be a good defender...has potential though as he continues to guard big name guys to develop...but hes not there yet

no shut down guys...no bruce bowens, no kobe bryants, no alonzo mournings, or eddie jones, no ron artests, no AK47s, no jason kidds, no ben wallaces, no tayshauns, etc

my point is, this is a very average defensive group

with no go-to guy on offense and nothing special on defense and no depth...this team will keep games close with their starting 5 and have a chance to win games late, but may fail against teams with studs that can take a game over, or teams that can get defensive stops....korver cant create his own shot, millers a nice player but not a go-to guy....iguodala isnt ready for that yet

my two cents

Definately no shutdown guys but Miami didn't have one last year because of Shaq's presence and Dalembert does some of the same things down low. Posey is a nice defender but not a shutdown guy.

I think Miller is a better defender than you give him credit for and although Igodaula still needs work, he'll be the guy before too long. He's athletic enough right now to get by without perfect technique.

Agree on Korver... I can't think of a single white guy who shot 3's that has ever been a good defender really.

No defense for Miami?

Udonis Haslem is a good defensive player. He harassed Nowitski in the Finals. Great rebounder, great hustle player, great role player, good defender, and compliment to shaq. There was a great stat on Haslem that when other teams stud players matched up against him their PPG and FG % significantly decreased.

Alozno Mourning off the bench for the Heat last year was an absolute shot blocking animal. Not only that but he altered sooooo many shots. Shaq is a lane clogging beast in the middle, so the Heat always had a guy in the middle even when Shaq rode pine. When Dalembert rides bench, does their defense fall apart?

Mourning was an alldefensive team player for many years.

Shaq was an all-defensive team guy, too.

Dwyane Wade is an all-defensive team player as well but Id say he is slightly overrated as a defender. He makes all of the eye popping defensive plays that make your jaw drop like stuffing centers and forwards, but he doesnt play defense every time down the floor (takes plays off)....Posey is an above average defensive player. Gary Payton is a good defensive player. He's lost a step for sure, but this guy wasnt called the Glove for nothing. Riley was putting Payton in late in games because of his defense.

Heat have 4 players that at one point in their careers were or are currently all-defensive team guys. One guy (Haslem) that could be in the future, and another Posey, who shouldnt be, but plays solid D.

Outside of J-Will and Toine the Heat have some defensive pieces.

I was thinking we were talking more about guys that can guard the 50 point scorers instead of paint guys. Dalembert is a presence down there. Igodaula can guard alot of different guys and gives them flexibility. Miller plays D with smarts.

They aren't dominant but I think they are in the top half of the league now that their offense is going to slow down some and they can focus more on D.

85-1 wasn't bad... they showed t hey can win the other night... that doesn't mean they'll win out >:D but it's a start. 85-1 isn't a bad wager on a team on the rocks like this with so much potenial. The championship though, why didn't you just mail me that check? >:\
