I have never watched "Lost", but have heard great things about it. Just wondering if anyone watches it and would advise me to rent the first few seasons on DVD.

Thanks in advance.

First season is great.

every single episode since has gotten worse and worse.

If you rent it, be prepared to be extremely frustrated at the lack of answers and the dropoff in quality as the show progresses. It had such promise and now just seems an unmitigated mess.

And I think everyone who watches it agrees.

The first and third seasons are pretty good but I found the second weaker. If every episode had Evangeline Lilly mostly naked in it then it's all good.

They've been making up the story as they go for too long now, but it's still entertaining.

Too many characters going in and out of the show, sure sign that the plot is being stretched out longer than was originally planned.

Oddly, I prefer Juliet to Kate this season. I like my women mysterious and brainy.

Rent Season 1 on DVD.

My older brother got it for Xmas last year...we seriously watched the whole thing in like a couple days. It's like crack. You're going want to keep watching episode after episode.

Trust me on this one.

Agreed. I downloaded Season 1 and watched it pretty much non-stop with the woman. It was awesome.

I think Lost is a victim of a greedy studio.

Originally they thought it was going to be like a 4 season run. But sure enough once the huge ratings came in they were told to stretch it and get as much as they can out of it. So now there is no end in sight and Im afraid that they have gotten in to a mess plotwise that they cant get out of.

To each his own, but I think the show has steadily declined to the point of laughable now.

Lost is a good show I recommond watching it. However the head writer JJ Abrahams does have a lot of build up of suspense and mystery in every episode in the first 2 seasons but he fails to deliver the goods when it comes to the revealing the answers. He either chooses not to write anymore on a certain character, kills them off just when you start getting into them and their past or glosses over the storylines with simple resolution. This is the same writer who did Alias and for those that watched the show from beginning to end will agree that the build up on that show didn't match the climax.

If you like shows with mystery and story arcs that get played out over the course of the season I strongly recommend Veronica Mars. There is no other show like it on TV if you have an open mind regardless of the characters age, gender or race.

Excellent show. Not as wierd as twin peaks, but weird in its own ways. Part of the problem is that certain actors asked out of their contracts, so they had to change up the story lines a little.

Rent season 1, a lot of libraries even have it now.

It's a great show. I have been watching religiously since season 1. Rent the 1st season and you will fly through those DVDs.

It's a great mystery with interesting characters. Yes it's frustrating sometimes that they don't answer some of the mysteries while introducing new ones. But the flashbacks are my favorite because you learn a little more each flashback about each character.

Watch it and I think you'll enjoy it.

It was good in its first season but now its just one big clusterfuck which is why i stopped watching. They'll bring up some storyline, have a big cliffhanger and then leave it unresolved as they start another storyline.
