How do 22 to 2 runs happen in basketball?

The score was 40 - 36 with VT up 4. I leave the computer and than I check again and see 62 - 38. How does that happen? The score has go to be incorrect. How does one team who has been in it the whole just fall apart like that. A 22-2 run how do you just suck that much where you can only score 2 pts when the other team scores 22.
