Why would you do a two team parlay when you can just do an If Bet?

Example:
Heat -1 $110 to win $100

If win Cavs +4 $210 to win $190

TOTAL If both win = $300

2 Team Parlay at 2.6-1 = $260 total win

Why not just do an if bet and get the better odds?

$210 at risk to win that $300...

whereas the parlay is only a $100 risk for a $260 win...

just food for thought assuming the first game in the If Bet wins.

First of all, you're risking $110 on the if-bet, and only $100 on the parlay. So we'll assume you meant you wanted to risk $110 on the parlay as well. A true parlay payout should be more around 2.6446 to 1 if the book isn't cheating you.

$110*2.6446=$290.91 payout with parlay

In your if-bet example, $210 would pay $190.91, plus the $100 (not $110) from the first game gives you $290.91.

If-bet payout: $290.91
Parlay payout: $290.91

Related to the "IF-BET" type of wagering, I believe you have to put down SAME amount of wager for BOTH if-bets, right? That'd also throw a wrench in Bet-It-All's line of thinking. I know I have wondered/attempted this before, but this was with Bodog (so Bodog, at least, required you to put the same "risk amount" for both if-bets).

some books don't allow the 2nd wager of the if-bet to exceed the risk amount of the first one

Another example is where I see people play 4 team parlays at the ridiculous 10-1 odds. Even where at most books the minimum in a 3 teamer is 6-1 odds, 10 pays 60, you get 70, why not take the 70 and make a virtual wager (like at bj or heritage) on the 4th team, 70 to win 63.63, gets you 133.63, a whopping 23.63 more (therefore being 12.36 to 1) then the 10-1 odds.

BetMania gives the best parlay odds I have seen:
2 teams 2.69 to 1
3 teams 6.28 to 1
4 teams 12.70 to 1 (etc.)

Of course best way to make money is straights!

the second one needs to be less or the same that the one on top......For fotball or basketball there is no problem because is -110 either way but when you play baseball or money line need to take in cosideration the sings ( + or - )
