With 16 points and 11 rebounds in a 120-87 Bulls' rout of the Pistons, Joakim Noah posted his 18th double-double of the season Monday. That's one more than his combined totals from his first two seasons.
Noah, who is genuinely focused on winning, isn't a big individual statistics guy. But this one gave him pause.
"I feel I put in a lot of work this summer and I think it's working out," Noah said. "I feel a lot more comfortable on the court this season. I know what's asked of me. I just want to keep improving.
"My first two years were a perfect progression because I got the opportunity to play a little bit at the end of my rookie year. My sophomore year, I got to play in the playoffs. All those things gave me experience I needed to understand what I needed to do for this season."
Noah is one of five players to be averaging a double-double this season, joining Dwight Howard, Gerald Wallace, Chris Bosh and David Lee.
