A old friend sent me a an old magazine, it was a July 1968 Dell Sports with Harmon Killebrew (one of my 3 all-time favorites) on the cover. It was so enjoyable looking at it, remembering the players in it like it was yesterday. It was a baseball issue and it had capsules on all the baseball players. It was so great reminiscing about these players. I was 11 at the time and I knew these guys and their stats like I knew the back of my hand. My Dad always told me if I studied my schoolwork like U studied the sports page, I would be a straight A student. It was pretty neat seeing the changes in time looking through it. Remember when a player got traded and they just brushed out his old team on the cap and he wore a blank cap in the picture? I about cried when I saw what could have been though. An ad for a complete set of 1968 Topps baseball cards- Over 600 cards for $13.95. If my Dad would have bought me that and put them away and never let me open it, just think what it would be worth today. Anyway, if you get a chance to look through old mags, I highly recommend it. It's a real kick.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, CY1981. I have an autographed picture of the Killer, maybe from around the same time as that mag.

I agree and love looking at old sports magazines...we've done a thread or two on them as well...some really cool stuff.

I think the '68 set is worth atleast 5 grand now.

Merry Christmas CY

Have quite a few from the late 60's and early 70's, and in fact just took a few out of the closet a couple weeks ago to show Billsfan.

CY, if I recall, your a J.BENCH fan correct? Have a couple with him on the cover of some baseball mags that are really nice.

If interested, will mail you some of the mags..............have to start paying off my golfing debts. :(

Yep, Killebrew, Bench, and George Brett were my 3 favorites. No need to send but thanks anyway. I'll collect those golf debts sometime in Vegas at a craps table. Merry Christmas to you and Hawkeye too. Hawkeye, you must have missed my post about you a few days ago. The thread was about nicknames on this site and if a guy would change it now. I said Hawkeye171 was his favorite sports team followed by his career batting average in high school. Thought it was cool you were comfortable in not lying about your average after all these years.

Would they be of any value ...

I found a few Blue Jay's programs from their Opening Season in '77.

They sold for a buck back then.

What do you guys think they're worth today? :ughhh:
