Giants @ Was

I suspect Washington will give their all and try and finish the Giants season off, plus the rookie QB will be trying to secure his job...the Giants have stumbled and bumbled the entire 2nd half but they have to be motivated right?

Bills @ Ravens

Balto can't let down here but 9.5 points is a lot...the Bills have nothing to play for...hard to imagine they would be 50% as focused as Balto.

Packers @ Bears

The pack has outside hope of getting in and Chicago has nothing to play for...will Lovie play anyone...Griese shoukld play half decent and the BEars basically just need to win to cover...any idea how many Bears regulars will play?

more to come later,,,,,:ohno:

redskins will easily be motivated.
Yes, after blowing a 2-TD lead on the road at Rams, you can bet the Redskins are going to want to vent their "season-long frustrations" out on their division rival, Giants, at home.

BTW, J-Man, I think Campbell's starting QB job is not in jeopardy, nope. He's already the starter for next year, 99.5% sure of it myself. Brunell will be the "expensive veteran backup", or if not, someone else will have that role if money is an issue...

I can't see the Bears letting the Packers win. Even if Greise plays the entire game, they should be at least as good and maybe even better, than with Grossman. The Packers may be motivated, but when you haven't beaten a team with a winning record all season, why would reason say you would beat a team undefeated in the conference? Reason doesn't say so. I've already bet the Bears at -2.5 and feel they will win by at least two T.D.'s. And this, from a life-long Packer-Backer. Favre's last game? No. Green Bay's last game of the season? Yes.

Me too, I wouldn't back either one of them even without looking at the lines. (What!? NYG favored by only -1 -124 at Pinny now or -2.5 -110 at few other books.)

Still no value there... either team can find a way to win or lose...

Great post, hawkeye171. I can see how Chi -2.5 is a great hit, surprising since the line started at -5. I think everyone is too focused on how "Chicago has nothing to play for until the playoffs" and that GB may play better knowing it's possibly Favre's last game of his career (for the umpeenth time, really...) but without following GB much this year, I can guess the quality of the team is just not the same as shown by you saying so even if you're a strong GB backer.

If the side isn't easy to figure out in that game, I wonder if the Under is the lean to go? I see that it's set at O/U 36 now but already down from 38. I just don't see both offenses clicking for combined 35 points...just babbling here.

I love this motivation talk this time of Year because it always shows you if someone's played the game or not. Those that say players are not motivated havent a clue because they have never played. In my 10 Seasons with the London Sputniks we finished bottom 8 times but always put our best foot forward, its a matter of pride and self respect, I even came on with 10 minutes left in a game being down 31-0 with a broken Leg for a punt return. :drink:

Lets not get carried away with all this motivation and resting players shit. Chicago are in big trouble and the books know it. Normally the spread for this game would have been the 7-9 YO YO trick, last week the Books put them in short and there were still takers so they knew they would get cash at Calvin Ty's -5. The fact its gone -3 isnt because there's hoards of Green Bay backers but Books falling over themselves to get to the Trough. :drink:

It's so sad that some of the NFC teams having losing records still even have a chance for the playoffs. One guy on ESPN's Cold Pizza was saying the other day they should have a "disqualification" rule. "The New York Giants should just be disqualified from the playoffs with how they are playing..."

If Giants win Saturday night they pretty much wrap it up and any NFC games on Sunday wont mean much at all.

Several teams would need to win and lose for pack to pass Giants in strength of schedule tiebreaker.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..
