So I woke up today and checked my accounts like I do everyday, and I saw my balance was off in one account, I logged in and saw that there were three large bets made in my account yesterday, someone had stolen my info and gone into my account and bet my entire balance on the two football games and the one basketball game. I called the book and they have started an investigation. It sucks to know that at any time anyone working for the books can log into your account and crush you, at least that is what I think happened, the bets went 1-2 in case you are wondering. Has this happened to any of you, and if so how was it resolved. Don't ask me about the books name, I will not reveal it unless things don't get settled. Merry Christmas to me, by any chance does anyone know where the IP address that starts with 209 would be.
I just talked to the book again, they are still investigating, funny part is the manager tells me it is impossible for anyone at the book to do this, so I ask him a simple question, Do you know my account number and password, he say yes, so if you wanted to you could easily do this, he says it is not possible, I ask him once again the same question with the same answer, the guy does not understand that anyone that has access to my account # and password could do this, and pretty much everyone at the book including all the tellers have access to this information. He says its more likely that I would give my number and password to someone, you know everyday conversation," hi, How are you, by the way here is my account number and password in a book in costa rica in case you wanted to bet some games for me." They better get it straight. I have been with them for 5 years and have had mid 5 figures with them on a regular basis, and the bets that were made were all full game bets, 99 percent of my bets are halftimes and first halves, and i don't bet football with them.
I take it you have changed the password to at least eliminate that same person from accessing the account, should it be someone of the disgruntled sportsbook employee variety who made the wagers?
One other thought.....I know some sportsbooks ask for an account number and then your initials.....something which I'm not too fond of because then anyone who finds your account number on a computer and also knows your name has easy access to that account via the phone by simply giving the operator your initials after he quotes your account number......anything like this a possibility for your situation?
I always felt account numbers with passwords were better than account numbers with initials....

A little more than just 209 from the IP would help. Just running 209 on this website brings up pages and pages of possible matches. Should you find the entire IP I will be gald to see if I can fid out where it is from and with any luck maybe even who. But I would need the entire IP to be anywhere near certain.

Poopah, this is news that you're not going to like, but I don't see any way that the book is going to bend here.
There are just entirely too many possibilities that would open them up to future shot takers, it isn't even funny.
Considering that the plays were put in from an IP in the US (and unfortunately within a ~2 hour drive of you), I highly doubt that the staff had anything to do with it. Also, what would they have had to gain? They didn't know that they games would come out losers.
I've done some digging on my end to try to help your case, but I came up empty.

I agree with you TTin, I closed my account and withdrew the rest of my money, the ip adress locator actually shows it is from san diego. all I know is I am out 2800 bucks, maybe someone hacked into my computer, my luck the guy had to suck and go 1-2:lol: , I don't want to worry about it anymore, it's only 2800 dollars, who knows who did this. Hopefully I can get somewhere with the ip address. Thanks for your concern however.
