What difference does it make?

You have to respect a man who backs his opinion with cash even if it is for a sawbuck.
In my eyes, if you don't respect a player for a wager, for example, under a dime, that makes you an elitist.

Exactly

This is how I view it......my "AVERAGE" wager on "ACTUAL" wagers is somewheres between $750-$1400 per game in any given month.

I would certainly not respect someone NOT respecting me just because they wager $20,000+ per game and I do not............and this is the same reason that I respect somebody even if most of their wagers are less than $50 per game..............

The truth is many, many of those that wager less than $50 a game win more money sportsbetting in the longterm than many of those that wager $10,000+ per game...............those are the facts!

I agree with Fish. Most bet too much and that will doom you eventually for many. I do not look down on $10 bettors or the guy at Burger King taking my order as well. Besides, I am a fellow gambler and we are in a unique club. Thanks.

If Your Respect For A Man Is Based

on how much he bets on a friggen sporting event, then you deserve NO respect. How about his character, honesty, loyalty, good father etc. All mean a hell of a lot more than gaming. If you`re just reserving it to the sz $$ of a guys bet, that`s also a Q! Many yrs ago on my 1st trip to LV I was in line @ the now defunct Castaways, and a guy in front of me bet 4 or 5 gms for 2 or 3 K a pop. Now @ that time in my life that was a HELL of a lo of $$. So I kept track of his gms as I thought "this guy must be a pro", They all lost, moral, sz of your bet doesn`t mean you know WTF you`re doing. Come to think of it that`s what Gyno`s girl told me! :)

I've said it before so I'll say it again here goes.

Weather your betting $22 or $220 it is all relevent as you'll be lucky to hit 50% of your bets and 53% will keep you even.

I heard a sports book supervisor on the Stardust line say years ago that 94% of all sports bettors will lose and everyone wants to be that 6%.

If that is true we all need our heads examined.

Off course we all know that that 6% all post here at therx.

A 30-70 chance I was hand-writing those wagers......as I worked at the "old" Castaways..........you are refering to the "old" one on the strip, correct?

I have more respect for people who get up every morning and do what they have to do to support thier family then the handful of clowns that frequent this site pretending to be professional gamblers.

You mean this butt-head, who gets up at 5am every morning to drive 63 miles down I-95 just to make it in by 7am just to turn around and sit in 2 hour I-95 traffic at 5 pm, just to make a decent wage to help pay the mortgage, and feed the dogs.

There are weeks I don't have buy-in $$ for a Hold 'Em game.
Guess what? The game can wait until I do.

Anybody who thinks you aren't a gambler unless you are a dime player, I can't stand !

I agree with what you guys are saying...but...

I value the opinion of someone betting more money than the opinion of a $5-10 bettor. Mainly because I believe if someone is betting a couple hundred or more, they're more likely to have done the work to cap the game and come up with a solid reasoning. Often when i'm making $10-20 wagers its just for the heck of it to make the game a lil interesting. No real capping was involved...maybe quickly looking at some stats and then throwing the money down. If i'm gonna make a bigger wager for a couple hundred or more...i'm gonna be sure to read up on as much as i can and know the weather, injuries, etc before I put any of that money down.

While not always the case, espically if someone has lots of spare cash to burn, I'd say people betting larger amounts will put in their due diligence before making a wager.

Back when i was doing this regularly i was booted from SIA twice, had limits put on me at GCS, CARIB and Intertops. My avg bet at this time was $100 and never got over $250.......
The books go by avg deposit size, if you deposit $100, run it up to $1500 and withdraw say $600 they can forget it will be a longggg time before they ever get back ahead of you.....you win a few more wagers get it back to say $1200+ and buddy your practically worthless to them...
Books HATE winners.......and unlike in most things.........SIZE DOESNT MATTER

What an ass you are Gyn. This is what we talked about last night. LOL I love the word "deserve". WHo do you think you are. WOW you are the bigtime Gyn you are a forum legend. You are my hero. Do you feel better now.

I say people that put thier hard earned money on an opinion should be respected. Action is action. I put just enough on a game to make me feel the rush. Now that I am married and have more to worry about than just me I can't bet like I used too.

I agree with this post. But with Gyn using the word deserve is what makes his post stupid.

And how do you know the poster claiming to bet a dime a game isn't some pimple faced kid playing with Mom's lunch money? Believe it or not this is the internet, pretendville.

I've met a bunch of posters here and the vast majority of them are just average working stiffs who enjoy sports and sportsbetting.
