I proposed an idea to my brother that we rent a kiosk in the local mall and sell a product. He's a great salesman and he said that if could come up with a good product he would sell it for me. The problem is that I don't know what to sell. The mall would have to ok the product...what do you guys think would be a good product that I can get at a good price?

I'd love to hear some of your suggestions.

I would think it would be hard to make money selling in a mall. There are way too many of those kiosk any more.

Unless this is something you would enjoy, I would put my time and effort into some more lucrative.

I think Kiosks are better on a seasonal basis...like Christmas season which just passed...the problem is the malls charge an arm and a leg for those 7 weeks up to Christmas.

I know address signs work well in some areas.

I have been racking my brain to answer your question (since i fancy myself as a very sharp business mind)

If you can find a cheap supplier for womens shoes...dude then do it..

I am not dissing women, but when it comes to shoes, they are just stupid!!!

I swear dude, if you are selling womens shoes out of a kiosk they will totally buy your stuff off impulse.. Shoes in a kiosk in the mall is the equivalent of a beer stand with hotdogs for guys on the neighborhood corner.

Only thing is that you will need a contact who can hook you with cheap shoes in the first place.

I have a contact in china who hooks me up with some great clothes and stuff but these are for personal use not for sale.

I dont have that patience to sell these things.

When I met ViejoD he swore they were the latest fashion statement.

When I saw that attachment from Judge I instantly thought of the daleks (from the scifi show Doctor Who from the BBC, just in case you guys dont know what that is)

In my experiences with kiosks, the ones that sell sandals, crocs (as judge wapner mentions), and those shitty necklaces with shells and rocks do very good business. Depending on location, ones that sell college flags, license plates, and car mats seem to do well also.

out of curiosity, what does it cost to rent a kiosk? I know it depends a lot on geography, etc. but just wanted to get some idea because I have no clue how much it would cost.

These businesses stink in my opinion. I always laugh at the jackass sitting
there all day bored in the mall looking at the teenage girls. Maybe in certain malls if you get a decent price on a kiosk you will be able to turn a profit, but i have seen many guys go out of business real quick with these things. It's not worth the time and effort.
