Well from the looks of it the kind of QBs the N.F.L. has been trying to get for over the last 10 to 15 years you have to wonder how many Farves and Marinos we will see again.

It's nice to see guys like Rivers, Brees, Palmer, Manning, Rothensburger, and Brady show everyone how the QB position is/and should be played. And now we have Cutler and Quinn next year. They can make all the changes they want, but the running QB has never been a force in the N.F.L. Vince Young could change that, but that is a while off.

They can experiment with the brainless running QB, but it does you offense on good. They are always a non-factor when defenses make it a priority to stop the run and force them to beat them passing. None of them can do it.

Would you classify Steve Young and John Elway as running quaterbacks?

I think Vince Young could be better that those two - but the media would never compare him to those two - they would much rather compare him to Mike Vick ... I wonder why. What Young has done in the first year is better than every quaterback on your list except Tom Brady (who won a Super Bowl).

As for Rivers, he is NOT a bonafide starter in the NFL yet - might be someday, but the playoffs will show how much of a liability he is - especially when he plays the Pats and the Ravens.

Favre talked about the game being a "nice way to go out" 3 different times. He's done.

Favre is done. He will be missed. Whenever he threw a pass there were no ramifications. He just did what he thought was right at that split second. I'm going to miss the attitude, toughness, and athleticism he brought to the game. He made a lot of bad decisions throwing the ball in his last couple of seasons but he is a class act all the way. God Bless!!

I'm sick of him going into Chicago and kicking the Bears asses.

If he is retiring, he is leaving on a high note with that performance.
