Boggles my head, seeing top D1 schools having kickers struggling to kick 40 yarders. Cant they find anything out there, or just lack of recruiting kicker?

anyone else notice this?

I have no idea, but i've also noticed kickers are such weak minded pus's. If they miss a FG in a game, its a crap shoot if they are gonna make one at all. They are such mental cases. Take for example green bays kicker last night. After he missed the extra point, there was no doubt in my mind he was going to miss next FG he attempted. These guys need to get tough, coaches need to find someway to get these guys hardcore. They need to go through the same shit the whole football team does. Maybe a little bar of soad in a towel in the locker room beat down will toughen them up.

As a loyal HAWKEYE fan, I am constantly amazed how IOWA always seems to have a very above average PK, so good that they seem to always have a kicker challenging for All-American honors.

PK's and TE's are always a strength of IOWA teams......understand the TE connection, but the solidness at the PK position as always amazed me.

Having said that, IOWA has a FR PK this year that will take over the starting PK duties next year .........a PK that was regarded the #1 PK coming out of the high school ranks two years ago.

tex a&m's punter had a punt of zero yards during the holday bowl. wtf is that? it wasn't blocked and there was no pressure. and it messed him up for the rest of the game. watched a lot of football during my day, & i don't believe i can ever remember a zero yard punt. naturally, after that punt, it took cal a heartbeat to score a td.

On a side note...I have noticed what fishhead is sayingg. Iowa always (seems anyway) has a beast kicker. Actually seems like the big 10 gets some pretty good kickers for some reason.

Since the late 70's, IOWA always had well above average PK's........including some great ones.

The latest great one being NATE KEADING, current PK for the Chargers.

I could be way off on this but I do not think there are many GOOD kickers in H.S football. I watch a small amount here in Il. at the top level 6a and they are just not very good. So I think either you have it or do not, and the ones that do have it are far and few Between.
