Real reason Sanchez not starting this year or next year is becuase of Juice and Bush. I think we would be much better off if Booty went to LSU. Lane Kiffin should be fethicng coffee for Jon Gruden instead of calling hitches to Jarrett and predictable 3 step drop slant patterns that get batted by defensive ends.

Rail, Booty would ride the pine at LSU, albeit his brother was All-SEC QB back when LSU wasn't landing the out-of-state recruits it now lands.

Dirty Sanchez is rotting away in the land of the desert prostitutes?

I.E. It is better to have a Booty than to have a Dirty Sanchez!

Booty has had a great year. QB gets way too much credit and way too much blame. He has not had the weapons USC had in the past (great running game last year) nor the offensive line. Jarrett was hurt early. Incredible season by Booty.

Hey Rail,

Was Sanchez the kid accused of rape awhile back? You know, typical USC behavior.... free houses, clothes, etc.

'incredible season' is a bit hyperbolic. but youre right, he definitely hasnt gotten the credit he deserves for some good games. he has all the tools to be an exceptional qb. the only thing i think he's lacked is some leadership. of course, that comes with time and some experience. but i think, as poorly as they played against ucla, they still could have stolen the game if booty played with more of a sense of urgency. hes a little too passive for my liking and doesnt play with a lot of fire. still a much better qb than many think though.

I agree about his leadership and his "persona"...but I don't think "incredible" is overdoing it. He was without Jarrett for several games and without a true running game most of the season yet put up these numbers:

<TABLE class=yspwhitebg cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR class=yspscbrdbg align=middle><TD class=ysptblhdr align=left colSpan=16 height=18>Passing</TD><TD class=yspwhitebg noWrap width=1 rowSpan=100><SPACER height="1" width="1" type="block"></TD></TR><TR class=ysptblthbody1 align=right><TD class=yspdetailttl height=18> </TD><TD class=yspdetailttl align=left width="21%">Name</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>G</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>QBRat</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>Att</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>Comp</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>Pct</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>Yds</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>Y/A</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>Y/G</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>TD</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>Int</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>Long</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>Sack</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl>YdsL</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl height=18> </TD></TR><TR class=ysprow1 align=right><TD class=yspscores> </TD><TD class=yspscores align=left>John David Booty</TD><TD class=yspscores>12</TD><TD class=yspscores>141.9</TD><TD class=yspscores>391</TD><TD class=yspscores>242</TD><TD class=yspscores>61.9</TD><TD class=yspscores>2956</TD><TD class=yspscores>7.6</TD><TD class=yspscores>246.3</TD><TD class=yspscores>25</TD><TD class=yspscores>9</TD><TD class=yspscores>53</TD><TD class=yspscores>13</TD><TD class=yspscores>-85</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Bush and White were a huge part of last season's offense. He is doing this with true freshmen in the backfield and a terrible OC.

if booty keeps making throws like that on 3rd/long, you can feel free to use the 'incredible season' tag

I don't think Sanchex would have blocked the UCLA D-line??

It would have been nice to see Ohio St. BEAT USC....but USC couldn't beat a team they should have schooled...

Sanchez could have moved out of pocket and is dynamic, doesnt get sacked and has better arm. Would have started if not for allegations.

Hard to believe he spent 3 years not playing football. Could have been a 3rd year starter next year at 100 other schools.

Rail,

So Sanchez was the kid arrested on rape charges? Wow, can't believe you still want him to play with all the shit you gave Kobe on his rape charges.

You may hate Kiffin for his play calls but he is one of USC's best recruiters.

USC could recruit the top athletes with phone calls if they wanted these days.

They'd be 8-4 with Lloyd Carr as their coach. Michigan needs to give him the boot

Right and this is probably true for 95% of recruits but you have those few who are getting pursued by the top programs like Florida, Texas, LSU and whoever and having a good recruiter may get you that one extra 5 star recruit.

SC is going to get the book thrown at them at some point, there is far too much smoke to say there aren't some major fires there. I think once Pete leaves the scene something will start sneaking out and then it will be a flood. SC has good pull in drawing in recruits, but the battles are so national these days I find it hard to believe they are getting what they do get without some games going on. Not that others aren't cheating, just its about time for the SC empire to show a few cracks in this regard.
