With all the excitement of the game and the thrilling finish we all started saying what a great coaching job and what balls Boise's Coach had.

Now that Ive slept on it I have to say I think what he did was stupidity.

Hear me out. All the gimmick plays im fine with leading up to the last one.
The first two the 4th and 18 and the halfback throw they needed something to get a score and they worked.

The Last 2 point conversion was stupidity. Your team fights all game and you are going to pin the entire game on that. What if Zabransky drops the ball trying to be that cute and he gets sacked what does everyone say than? What is he saying to his defense that he has no belief in them to stop Oklahoma even though they played a hell of a game.

It worked so everyone says great job but if that decision backfires how do you feel for those kids?:ohno:

Stop hatin!
It was Zabransky's game to lose at that point, he had already lost it when he threw that pick 6. He got an ultimate chance to redeem himself and he did.

there is no sense questioning "what if" in this case (imo).

WHY? because the play worked....

I mean we could go all day and question "WHAT IF" if we wanted.....

what if he kicked the PAT and then OK scored another touch down on their very first play? Think Boise would have been able to come back again?

talking about WHAT IF'S can drive you crazy, what we need to talk about are the FACTS and what actually happened.... In this case, his gutsy play calling gave the victory to Boise!

Hate to say it but most of the posts on this forum are what ifs and cursing coaches calls.

I just wanted to bring up a point that it seems like the coach didnt believe in his team at that point by making the call. Just my thought

At the time I saw them lining up to go for 2 I thought it was the wrong call, but now I feel differently. I believe the Boise State coach knew his team desperately needed to win the game, not prolong it. The Broncos were tired, and every exchanged series of plays gave a more physically talented Oklahoma team another opportunity to win. Sooner or later that would have made the difference in the game.

Putting everything on the line on one play was likely his team's best chance to pull off the upset, and a gutsy call made it work.

Going for TWO was the ABSOLUTE best thing to do!!!

I can't believe some of you disagree with that.

They go to a 2ND OT, OKLAHOMA would be a VERY VERY VERY small favortite to win the game, but on the otherhand, would estimate BOISE STATE had roughly a 60% chance of converting that 2pt. conversion.

Thus, the correct move was TO GO FOR THE 2 PT. CONVERSION.

I think in the second overtime Oklahoma would have been more than a small favorite. The team that has the ball second has a huge advantage and I think that played into it too.

I see too many people here saying a coach was great for trying this or a stooge for trying that. What most people don't realize is that just because a play succeeds doesn't mean it was a smart move and just because a play failed doesn't mean it was stupid.

I'm not saying this in relation to the particular playcalling last night. I'm just saying this in relation to what I see on this board from time-to-time.

Even if it didn't work, going for 2 was the right decision. Boise State was getting beat in every aspect of the game at that point and were being worn down just like everyone expected with a bigger, faster, stronger opponent. They built a big lead riding momentum and adrenaline of playing in the big game. They were not going to stop Oklahoma from scoring TDs from the 25 with the way the Oklahoma running game was going at that point in the game.

100% right call in my opinion.

If you were a big underdog in a game of that caliber and someone offered you the ball and 1 play to win or lose the game from the 2 yard line you should take it every time.
