How do you Figure TRUE Teaser Odds?

I know the true parlay odds (2 teams = 3-1, 3 teams = 7-1 etc) but don't know the true teaser odds, say for a 6 pointer.

Anyone know the true odds on a two team, 6 point teaser? A three team six pointer?

And, how are the true teaser odds figured?

no standard answer. It will depend on the sport and the various pointspeads involved in the contests you choose.

I would think you would figure 10 cents for every half point you'd get so it would be $2.20 for each side. Figure it as a parlay and enter -$2.20 for every team that would be in it. A two team 6 point teaser would be a -2.20/-2.20 parlay.

That's my idiot guess.

not quite, you can only buy limited points at 10 cents a half-point, then they are worth more than 10 cents as they have increased value. Check what Greek charges. Most books only sell about 2 full points.

But he's trying to figure out "true" teaser odds.

I'm not sure if this is the answer you are looking for but:

Playing a two team teaser, 6 points, at even juice is equivalent to laying -240 on each leg and it's simply a parlay of those two.

Playing a two team teaser 6.5 points at -110 juice is equivalent to laying -260 on each leg and it's simply a parlay of those two.

Playing a 3 team teaser at 6 points +180 juice is equivalent to laying -240 on each leg ant it's a parlay of those 3.

3 team at 6.5 at +160 = to -260 on each leg and it's a 3 team parlay.

I got a feeling you're making sense, but my understanding is just limited!

I guess I was asking what true odds would be on those teasers - you're saying it's determined by the juice.

A 3 team PARLAY will pay 6-1 at most books, if the juice on all bet teams is -110. True odds are 7-1, so the built in advantage for the book is around 14%, if I have that right.

In hard numbers, what would a two or three team teaser be regarding true odds. Most books will pay 11-10 on a two team (6 pt) teaser, and 8-5 on a 6 pt 3 teamer.

In parlays, the longer the string the higher the juice. (IE, there is more hold for the book on a 3 team parlay than on a two teamer). I assume the same holds true for teasers?.

I had heard there was a syndicate in the 90s in Vegas that make such big bucks betting the two team teasers that the books there were forced to shorten the odds.

You can't. By definition, there are no 'true odds' for a teaser.

'True odds' exist for a parlay, because each side should only win half the time. So you simply do a 2^(# of games) to find true odds.

Each side isn't supposed to win half the time for a teased line, so there's no 'true odds'

Maybe he wants what you need to hit to breakeven ? A two teamer paying +100 means you break even if your legs hit at around 72%.

Also, the more points you buy the more they start to cost at some books.

2.5 points is the most I've seen for sale at 10 cents a half.
