Well I started a thread a few weeks ago about buying my first HDTV. I went from almost buying a 12K pionear pure vision, to comming back down to reality and buying a 47 inch SAMSUNG for only $1600+ tax.

The very first thing I watched was the BOISE ST/ OKLAHOMA game. Thats one hell of start. I hope all the games are that good on my new toy.

My question is this?

How much difference is there in my 47" Samsung for only $1600 vs the screens for $7000 all the way up to 15K.

All I could say to myself the whole time I was watching this game was, how in the hell could a picture possiably get any better than this $1600 sucker?

Im sure glad I did not buy that PURE VISION tv.

where did you buy it from? ready to get either a pioneer or a samsung...was thinking of going the safe route and taking in different online prices to Best Buy and having them match it.

Go to vanns.com just bought one there to replace one that i bought at Best Buy and they are giving me problems in getting parts so i will end up getting a new tv from them by the time i am done with them but vanns is cheaper then anyone and their service is the best. Great to deal with someone who has the best # and great service just like we look for when shopping a line!!

go to your local Sears. Pick out the tv you want and then find it advertised online or a best buy/circuit city add in the paper. if the tv is the same make and model they'll give you 10% off the sale price at the other store.

Well done Chop. Technology has really caught up on the low end regarding HDTV.

There is hardly if any difference, you can see that just walking around and looking at the TV's at Best buy/Circuit city.

You made the right call.
