just remember how poorly these lesser teams have played after the long layoffs and with the clock running..I wouldn't bet a game over with these crap teams after what I saw two weeks ago.

Every bowl game total left besides the BCS Championship has went up, not down.

Simple.

Corporate sponsors want to stick their names on bowl games. That's big $$$$$ for the conferences and so for the schools.

So they expanded the bowls to 32. Now that's 64 teams. With only 119 Div 1A college foot teams, and with a requirement of six wins needed to get into a bowl, those highly moralisitic college presidents who shudder at the thought of stressiing out a "student athlete", decided to play a 12 game schedule, permanently, so as to allow more teams to get to six wins and so fill all the bowl slots. The same college prezs' who don't want a playoff, 'cause it takes too much time from the student-athletes class time.

Following this so far? Ok. There are not enough open time slots on TV in late December to stick all these little bowls, but it does thin out in January. Presto, you have small bowls in early January.

As they said during Watergate - Follow the Money.

If they draw 15,000 fans to a city who otherwise wouldn't be hosting said fans the city and committee will call it successful. Thing I don't get is how bad some of these game locations are getting. I mean who is really going to want to go to Albuquerque in late December or Toronto in early January? The whole point of hosting a bowl game is to draw in visitors, these make little sense.

If they want to continue this charade they should pick out a few cities to do a bowl series. Have 3 or 4 straight days of bowl games in Miami, San Diego, Las Vegas, etc one week before the BCS starts. You might get fans of the teams to go to a couple of games instead of just one or even get sports fans who want to watch sports and hang out in desirable places to book plans before they even know who is playing. The location gets lots of opportunity to sell their city to viewers.

Oh wait, this is too logical. The NCAA would nix this in a second.
