Whoever wins the Hummer will be responsible for paying taxes on it before they can take ownership.

It would be a shame to win it and not have the proper funds lined up to be able to afford the taxes.

Just a friendly reminder

Can I get it delivered before the poker tournament? I'm sure the girls wouldn't mind being driven around town in it.

Taxes can't be that much...2-3k

happens more than you think
if a college kid, or someone who does not have very much money wins it..it can be difficult to come up with the money quickly

you could easily sell it as soon as you receive it, and make a nice chunk of change, but the fact remains you have to cough up the tax BEFORE you gain ownership

like i said, just a friendly reminder

I bet the winner takes cash instead of the Hummer, just seems easier. Somebody wins no matter what, right ?

lots of contests locally, it doesn't work that way

prize or nothing

they usually offer someone who can not afford to pay the taxes a gift with a money value less than that which is taxable

with my company I am involved in a few of these, so I kinda know the ropes

The contest did NOT state that money could be taken instead, so it would be wise to find out BEFORE winning

I will front the 3K to any winner that cant come up with the proper funds as long as the winner is willing to sell the vehicle once recieved and I get 6K back from the sale.

Non US can get cash, I think they'd give you an option. I doubt the vehicle is purchased already.

Please note that due to increased shipping costs throughout the world, any winning poster who resides outside of the United States must either pay customs and shipping costs or take an equivalent of the price of the unit in cash. We are sorry for the inconvenience, however in order to run these contests year-round, we are forced to implement this rule, which will only affect posters who live outside of the United States.

Reading it over it sounds like a good chance nobody hits a 12 teamer ( about 4,000-1 odds). Limited to active will reduce entries.

I can't see them buying ahead of time, buy it when you know where the winner lives, if there is a winner.

Great prize, but I'd rather have cash equivelant if I win, I'm sure many would want the same.

Excellent to have a chance to win this.

Thanks, Skybook.

Tax is 6.25% for cars in Texas, plus around $77 for title and $24 for 2 year inspection sticker

Anyone who can't come with 2 grand to get a car that they can flip in hours for 40 grand shouldn't be gambling in the first place.

Well Doug the odds are MUCHHHHHHH better than that! Most of these props are correlated out the ass!! For instance, if you take the game under 37.5, then you probably take no score the first 8 minutes, you take no for over 1.5 TD passes, fourth quarter under 13.5 points etc! It would be the same for over betters.

I would think that this is more like an 8 team parlay or possibly a 9 team parlay.

I would think that the overall odds would be down closer to around 250 to 1 or so and probably closer to 150:1 since these props are so correlated

Yes they are correlated, but you also don't want what's taken several times already, and need to win a tiebreaker too. It's got to be well over 150-1 to hit it, but certainly not 4,000-1, either.

You have to decide if you want a unique entry or not.

Canada has heavy taxes. They have to pay for health care up there. Value added taxes and stuff.
