beat Nevada 38-7 on the road, beat Utah 36-3 on the road, beat Oregon St 42-14 who beat USC. Beat San Jose Sate on the road. Beat what I think is a top 10 team in HAwaii. was beating Big 12 Champions Oklahoma by 18 points before they got bored.

Would also be nice if Ohio St didnt let up 39 points to Michigan. Would also be nice if they beat 1 other semi competent opponent besides Michigan. Would be nice if they werent constantly punting vs Penn State. Michigan players think USC is better than Ohio State.

USC played a good game, big deal. You cannot lose to mediocre teams like OSU and UCLA and be considered a great football team.

I dont care what anyone says. Boise St at the very least has earned the right to prove themselves on the field.

boise st HAS earned the chance to play for title but so did SHAUN KING'S tullane team, and undefeated auburn a few years ago, etc....its just the way it is...would any of those teams have beat the title teams of that year...probably not, but thats not the point, its the fact that they got the chance to prove themselves....btw that was a really insane statement about boise st. was up by 18 and got bored...okl was giving them that gave in every aspect....if they played 10 times okl would win atleast 8 of them imo.

Correct, if Florida wins by a slim margin, BOISE STATE is your 2007 NATIONAL CHAMPION.

it should earn them a chance to play for the title, but that is not worthy of a national championship unless they step on the field with Ohio State or Florida and beat them

boise wants to win a national title in the future they need to schedule tougher games because Fresno was able to play major schools, Hawaii was able to play major schools, etc.

the truth is, they pulled a statue of liberty and a 4th and 18 conversion to beat a top 15 Oklahoma team that ends the season with 3 losses, and they beat a bunch of 2nd rate schools...a 2nd rate school like Nevada that got beat by a crappy Miami team, and a 2nd rate school like Hawaii that got beat by a crappy Alabama team.

schools make their own schedule, Boise made their own schedule, and if the NCAA made Boise's schedule, they have all of the room in the world to complain that they beat everyone in front of them and what more could they do...but they dodged playing major schools, while other schools in their confeerence were able to schedule tougher games and now they are paying for it

HUGE difference between beating oklahoma in one game, and playing a major school like that week in and week out and coming away with no let downs and no losses

congrats to boise on a fantastic season, and they have earned a right to play for a national championship...but awarding it to them is a completely different thing

Not taking anything away from them but...

How many losses would Boise State have had this year if they played in the following conferences?

Pac 10
SEC
Big 10

minimum of 2 losses in each.

2 losses is being nice. They would not finish at .500 in conference play in any major conference, Big East included.

Boise would finish right up with the big 3 in the Big10 this year. No question.
That said, they still would not be undefeated.
Givin 1 big game to hang your hat on, anybody can beat anybody... and if you're the underdog it's alot easier.

Would've won Big East outright, maybe go undefeated if they had Louisville/WVa at home

Fish, I know you are a SFL fan being from the area, but do you think South Fl would've beat Boise this year? couldn't beat Kansas St, don't know if they would cover a number vs Boise St, esp if it was on the blue field

I do think Grothe is a stud though

Think RUTGERS and SOUTH FLORIDA would represent themselves very well on their respective homefields.

i was actually thinking of Boise St playing the Rutgers schedule when I wrote my original post, I do believe it would be a competitive game in New Jersey.....but who knows, I wouldn't have thought USC would lose at Oregon St.

Railbird must be joking.

OSU only beat Michigan...

You must be forgetting the ass whooping they put on Iowa (Where Iowa was gonna get a big win) and the beat down they put on TX as dogs.

They also laid numbers like 44-0 on MN and 50-10 or whatever on NW without really even trying.

If Boise played OSU on a neutral field, OSU would be favored by 14 minimum.

It is all not gonna matter once FL gets beat by 10+ Maybe then Railbird will decide OSU has played good teams.

PSU and WI have already taken care of two SEC teams... WI lost to MI
